Slow .25 or .30 cal for squirrels

You're making bad shots then. I've had no issues taking literally thousands of squirrels over the years with a basic sub 12ft/lb .177. Now I'm stateside I used either a 30ft/lb .22 or a bsa ultra .25 running at 14ft/lbs for backyard hunting. Both work well. Headshots are key.

How many fps to penetrate a boars skull?

Don't shoot larger game with small caliber air rifles. It's not ethical whatever anyone else wants to tell you or convince themselves of.

JSB Hades .25 vs squirrel (warning graphic)

It is. I saw It in real time. Super bulged out. Being a low velocity heavy hollowpoint it just dumps all its energy into the target. This is my go to gun for pigeons in barns but also a good back yard gun

JSB Hades .25 vs squirrel (warning graphic)

This is only running at 14ft/lb out of a BSA ultra se. Ouch

    Hunting from vehicle in WI

Only legal if you are disabled. However I'd ask the DNR if those restrictions apply to pest control of unprotected species or not

Simply blown away by a very petite 100 year old English lady…🐿

Try the bottom on a bean can. I found my 5ish ft lb crosman 1322 will heavily Dent or even split the bottom of the can but will not penetrate all the way. If it goes through it should easily be 6+

Simply blown away by a very petite 100 year old English lady…🐿

I used to shoot at bean can bottoms to determine if they had enough power for small pests. If they'll punch through a bean can bottom they're usually 6ft/lb+

Simply blown away by a very petite 100 year old English lady…🐿

I wonder what it would chrono at? It probably only takes 2 or 3ft/lbs if that to take out a chipmunk. Wonder if it's around 12 ft/lb or more likely 9 or 10 like the old meteors.

    BSA Ultra SE .25

No this gun has been around for many years. It's one of the guns I lusted after when I first became interested in air rifles. I believe they released.some sort of updated version of it though.

Is anyone else burned out on people passing judgment on killing varmints?

This is the point youre not getting. The method and means of death and the suffering caused does matter. It's a matter of ethics. The American standard for ethical hunting/pesting seems to just be "well its dead so what's the problem". That's not much of a standard and we should strive to do...

    BSA Ultra SE .25

Here is my favorite air rifle. A BSA ultra SE in .25 caliber running at 14ft/lbs. It does a stellar job of close range pesting with a cheap 2-7 old bsa scope on it, and the JSB hades dump all the energy into the target avoiding damage to buildings etc. Its one of my favorite guns for shooting...

Is anyone else burned out on people passing judgment on killing varmints?

Sorry but the attitude "they're varmints we are trying to get rid of them" isn't an ethically valid one. We have a responsibility whenever we hunt or pest control to make the best ethical kills possible. If youre not willing to listen and be open to change, you're the problem. Not anyone else...
