What am I giving up with a compact scope?

What are the disadvantages, if any, in a compact scope versus a full size scope? I understand the shorter tube may present more difficulties in mounting, but what else? Does clarity suffer? Is eye relief shorter or more finicky? Less light gathering? What else?

Why all the black stuff in the barrel?

Thanks for the responses, fellow airgunners. Kayaker, thanks for the reminder on the fact that I don't have to clean as often. It's one of the reasons I came over to the dark side.

Why all the black stuff in the barrel?

I am new to PCP airguns and cleaned the barrel in my Diana Skyhawk today after putting approximately 300 pellets through it. I was amazed at how BLACK the cleaning patches were. I would expect that kind of filth in a powder burner, but not a PCP rifle. Is this normal? Is it just lead...

Carbon Fiber Air Tank Liter to Cubic Feet Conversion

Yes, Heath, that list is EXTREMELY helpful, and I saved it to a word document for future reference. Has anyone purchased and used one of the $240ish 3L 4500 PSI Chinese made tanks that are so plentiful on eBay? What has been your experience with it.?

[WTS] (SOLD) Marauder Field and Target like new

I bought this .22 caliber Marauder Field and Target new two months ago and it is my first PCP. However, I joined this site some time ago and after reading about other airguns out there, I feel the need to try some others. To do so means obtaining funds, so here we are. The Field and Target...

Watch & Discuss the Diana Skyhawk .22!!

Has anyone tried the aftermarket Tech 23 Front Cocking Lever on the Skyhawk? If it is sturdy, smooth, and reliable, it would certainly solve any issues with discomfort when cycling the action.

    Confused..

I agree with the posts claiming consistency is the key. Shooting with a bipod can surely give good accuracy, because everything is nearly the same every time you pull the trigger. The problem may come when you shoot at the bunny in the bush and are holding the stock in your hand. The hold is...

    Custom.22 P15 Predator “Build”

Very well done, Mike! That look can't be beat -- classic beauty with a mix of modern tactical function. Thanks for taking us on the short tour, as it inspires us all. You should be proud. One question, and keep in mind I am new to PCP airgunning and not familiar with foreign laws in respect...

    Bushnell Banner

Keyman62421, the scope will one day go on a .22 Diana Skyhawk that I am saving for. I am also attracted to the UTG Bugbuster since it has good reviews and is small and will be mounted onto a small gun, but I don't think it is made in a 4-12 power. Libertyman 777, I have had a Bushnell...

    Yong Heng

Me likes the cooler idea, Joer. I suppose you could even poke holes in the cooler's lid and send the rubber tubes through them and into the water and just set the compressor on the closed lid on top of the cooler. Lots of good brains on here.
