I have to wonder if your G2 might be defective? I have had both Caldwell models and the G2 has been the most reliable Chrony i have ever owned. Love, love the blue tooth! Great range with that too. 

My understanding is they are just re-branded JSBs in a prettier package so yes, they should work just fine. I sold my Daystate .303 and never tried the Emperors in that rifle but my Impact .30 barrel and magazine handles the JSB 50.15 grain diablos without a hitch. I would be wholly surprised...
