    Thought on AEA

I changed the spring in my challenger Pro 357 with Ace hardware but it's not big enough and slips into the rod hole. I made a washer from some nylon bushing and did a quick buffing to hammer and sear. I noticed that increasing the hammer weight and opening the valve and extra 2/10 of an inch...

    Thought on AEA

I got the aea Challenger Pro last October and the only leak I had was where the gauge was screwed in for the main fill tank and once that was tightened I have no more leaks. I have literally put hundreds of rounds through this thing. It's in the 357 version and I have some Lyman molds and I...

AVS slugs. Who is using them?

Know your barrel and get a size to fit. Seneca eagle claw likes 28 grn 217 cup base.

If you cast your own pellets ?

Casting is hard work to get perfect drops. Use a micrometer and a good scale to check the size and weight. You can sort them and get as many as possible that are the same. I'm doing hollow point 357's. Some are 119 grain +/- .3 grn and some are closer to 123. Just keep them separate. At 80...

Any Advice on Casting from Spent Ammo from a Homemade Pellet Trap?

Not really a major issue. If you're using nothing but crosman that may have higher levels of antimony which make harder pellets. I would recommend to get some pure lead and a little bit of pure tin. A ratio of 40 to 1 allows better flow and nice shine. Use the old trap ammo a little at a time or...

AEA .357 CHALLENGER STANDARD BIG BORE W/SIDE LEAVER

I did have some problems with Fox air power and I bought my gun from thepelletshop.com . I never could get a hold of Terry Fox but I can get a hold of the vendor at thepelletshop! You don't have to have a moderator but it is definitely nice on the ears to have one even though it's not like a...

AEA .357 CHALLENGER STANDARD BIG BORE W/SIDE LEAVER

358 work but you're better with 356 or 7 so buy yourself a Lee sizing die for 357. When I order from a large vendor I get 356 and when I make my own I size them to 357 because that's the sizer I have on my press. I even shoot hard cast 9mm round nose bullets well. Shooting into a pail full of...

AEA .357 CHALLENGER STANDARD BIG BORE W/SIDE LEAVER

The GT 88 grain hollow points group really well and I can actually hit soda cans at 100 yards repeatedly using the pro model. Anything over 105 grains has to be hand loaded and 120 grain shoots at 865 ft per second with 12 g of added weight to the Hammer. Deer season is gone so I reduced the...

    New gun Help

The 24-in Challenger is probably the most powerful but the pro model is regulated and will give you more consistent velocity and accuracy. If you're only going to take that one possibly two shots then the basic bullpup will do the job very nicely. If you want to shoot groups then the pro version...

    Are these guys legit?

The pellet shop is the best as far as customer service is concerned. Pretty much everybody sells it the same price but to be able to talk to somebody about a question then the pellet shop is the one that will return your call before you can finish your coffee!

    The Pellet Shop??

When you send somebody an email and tell them do not move forward until I speak to you on the phone because I want to spend another $200 with you and they don't return your phone call and just send you something and call it done when it's the wrong thing it does not fit and cannot read the...

    The Pellet Shop??

The pellet shop is much better than some fox out west. I bought a spare magazine and received a defect with the wrong center wheel. So I tried to call him and send email and never get any reply and then I finally get a text message to say he sent me a new part. Well I'm holding an invoice that...

    AEA big bore 357 owners

If you're going to get something that's not pure lead and has a copper jacket then go .001 smaller. AEA Challenger likes 356 so fmj 355 bullet works.

    Hand Pump ?

If you weigh 185 lb or more and don't mind working up a sweat you will pump and then give it a short rest and then pump some more because you don't want to overheat the pump or yourself. After a year of pumping I got a young hang compressor. Then I got an scba tank. Then I got another gun and...

Washers on the AEA Challenger .357

I watched bintak do a video. Looks like you just put washers under the hammer spring to preload it because there's no adjustment screw. It really couldn't be any simpler than just taking the back of the stock off and pulling the spring out putting some washers in and put it back together.

    Thought on AEA

Just got.35 Challenger pro. Put a Ronin on it... Wow such a quiet 150 ft lb gun. I turned the regulator down 50 bar to shoot only FX hybrid 68 grain. The reg was at about 190 and so I turned it down to 145 and I'll probably turn it back up to about 180 and then I'll go out for the hundred yard...

Air Venturi Avenger Recommendations for a New Guy...

Yeah I'm running my Avenger at different settings for different situations and like to keep it down around 1800 PSI or slightly less for the 16 grain area. Using a Caldwell chronograph and changing the hammer spring I can shoot very cheap h&m Spike pellets or the h&m Meister coogan. Ignore the...

How often do you clean the barrel?

I really like these little cleaning pellets they have that are made from flannel. I got some from a European company but I don't remember the name but I pick them up from Krale when I bought an Artemis. I got some Tipton ones that come with nice brass Jag is a little screw that goes in the...

    H&N Baracuda 18 - a new kid in the .22-town

Well I double and triple check the weight on three different scales and it appears that there are a little bit less than the listed weight. 17.9 grain is what I measured. I'm okay with that because the tins are filled according to weight and so you're going to have a couple extras. Of course if...
