What would you consider an acceptable group

Shooting the Benjamin Trails XL Nitro Piston break barrel in the .25 cal. What would you consider a good group at 40 yards? Keep in mind this is a break barrel nitro and not a PCP Thank you

Little bench shooting this morning, here in Louisiana

Likely the cheapest .177 break barrel that I've ever owned. But just love its accuracy. Can't put it down. Fury Nitro Piston, Wally World special... They tell me that you can't be consistant with a cheap set up. (Airgun and scope), but that would be a lie. This is a 15 shot group at 25 yards...

Want to improve your airgun shooting accuracy?

Before I get started with the subject, I want to make very clear that I am no expert, just simply a long time air rifle shooting enthusiast, like many of us here. I hear lots of fellow shooters many times complain most often about either a gun they purchased or the scope being junk, because...

    How's your free hand shooting?

Just curious if many shooters practice lots of free hand shooting, with their airguns. I have a very inexpensive break barrel Nitro Piston Crossman Fury NP, that I just have to brag on, though it's not my personality. I shot free hand 17 rounds at 22 yards on my range finder and the following...

Take a guess, at where my POI will be

I shoot a .25 cal Behamin Trails. At 12 yards it shoot hole inside of hole, in zero wind. Ik so heres the question, look at the picture attached if the pellets that this gun loves to eat. There you will see the diameter, and grain pellet used. Please tell me where you think this gun will be...

Break in your Airgun, before mounting your scope

One thing I wanted to make note of even with my Benjamin Trails .25 and Gamo .22 it's a great practice to 'break in' those Nitro Piston break barrel airguns, before ever mounting your scope on the gun. Take a can of cheap pellets and run 150-200 rounds through your gun to break it in. You will...

Crossman Fury as accurate as any

I own a lot of mainly break barrel airguns and mainly nitro piston operated. I don't care much for Springer's. Sighted in 3/4" of an inch low at 12 yards. The following picture is my (25 shot) group at 37 yards which I like it about 3/4" of an inch low. Most of my shots come in the 35-40 yard...

What PCP system is a good place to start?

Ok so to this point, I've only owned and operated Break Barrel Air Rifles Nitro Pistons. Where should I start in a solid PCP air machine that will be easy on the pocketbook? Preferably something that comes with a scope in the kit, charge pump etc. Looking for something that I can use out to 100...

My two favorite break barrel Nitro Pistons

These are my two favorite to shoot air rifles. Benjamin Trails XL 725 .25 cal and the Crossman F4, in the .177. Finally re sighted both in with some better optics, installed. The .25 is a hole puncher. Shoot a 1" group with both sighted in at 35 yards

    Crossman F4 elcheapo at Walmart

I bought this break barrel crossman F4 last year at Walmart, gave $80 bucks for it. Got it home mounted the 4x32 Centerpoint scope that came with the gun. Zeroed in rather quickly at 15 yards and then the shots started flying everywhere. Checked all my rifle and scope mount screws, all were...

Benjamin Trails 725 XL NP .25

Got this Benjamin Trails .25 cal in yesterday. Ran a few pellets through it today. Storming here in Louisiana, so didnt even attempt to sight it in. Gun feels like a machine. Anyone else who shoots them or owns one themselves want to share your thoughts on the gun and how it performs...

New to the shooting of air rifles

I've had them, but havent started shooting them much until now. I have a Benjamin Trails 725 xl .25 cal NP oerated, that I'm looking for advice on sighting in distance. I have a new mil dot scope I just added so I'm resighting in from scratch. I'm shooting a 28 gr. Pellet.m, in my .25. If my...

    Rabbit down

52 yards, with a crossman f4 .177. Its sighted in at 32 yards. Croishairs flush with the top of the head, right through the ear hole. Never moved

Crossman F4 still doing the job

The Nitro Piston works well for the price point. Even with the cheap ammo. This was at 32 yards. 10 shot group.. Rates at 1200 fps with alloy, Id guess like 950-975 with lead. Fun little shooter, gives the Starlings heck, for sure.

    'AMMO' Something Ive learned

Over the last month Ive been experimenting with various ammo in different air rifles that I own. As we all know many guns like a certain ammo and just because we own two of the exact same rifles does not mean that they will both shoot the same ammo accurately. We have all found this out through...

Crossman F-4 Nitro Piston, my personal thoughts

Ok, so before I make a few statements about this break barrel air rifle, I want everyone to know that I am not knocking anyones Airgun preferences whether you have spent $1,000.00 or $20.00 on your favorite shooter. Its all about what you like for your situation. I own several airguns ranging in...

Question for all the Beeman P17 buffs

Ordered one on Saturday and got it in today. Its still in the packaging. I bought one without the red dot scope. I had a couple questions. I have familarized myself with the operation of this Air Pistol and Im looking forward to testing it out once we get some decent weather, here in Louisiana...

Gamo Hornet Maxxim .22 re adjusted sight in distance

Ive been experimenting with this particular Gamo as Ive shared before. I was sighted in originally at 30 yards, and today moved that zero out to 35 yards as most of my squirrel shots generally fall somewheres close to that range. The target below shows my first (8 shot) group an inch high and an...

Take a guess on the amount of drop

Im testing my Gamo Hornet Maxxim at 75 yards tomorrow. I shoot an H and N Sport Terminator Holliw Point .22 cal pellet, pictured below. Im zeroed in at 30 yards (3/8 grouping) and Im also dead on at 40 yards as my second zero. These pellets are 16.36 gr. How low in inches are you guessing I...

    Beeman P17 thoughts?

Ive been reading reviews and listening to many people talk about the accuracy and plink ability of this little air pistol. I see Amazon has them with a red dot scope for around $38. I was entertaining getting one to play around with. Anyone shoot these and know what I can expect as far as...
