Thanks marflow .. I’m going to get the hammer spring adjuster. eBay for $22.00. I just received a muzzle brake from Crosman, as I decided I should have ordered it in the first place. 

Crosman vs Umarex .. Crosman = 40 shots per cartridge. Umarex = 34 shots per cartridge. Both at ambient temp. The data above seems to be accurate. I may still do the spring mod, but it’s good to know the pistol at least gets the advertised shots per. Happy with the purchase.

I meant 12 gram cartridges, not 80. Not sure what hole I pulled that out of !

Thanks for the reply. That looks like a viable solution, but I really don’t want to do that much modification on this new pistol. I talked to Crosman and they said heavier pellets can use more CO2. Not sure I agree with that however. Also .. it seems that Umarex cartridges may have a tad less...

I just received this pistol (see pic) it’s .177 caliber. I’m only getting about 35 usable shots from a Umarex 80g cartridge. 7 grain pellets seemed to get more than the 8.6 grain which is kinda strange. At any rate, shouldn’t I get at least 40? Also .. at 10 yards I have the Weaver rear sight...

Pyramid told me to try air tool oil on the valve stem/assembly. It did not work, unfortunately. The HW75 has a defective valve and it’s going back. Kinda wondering what happened to Weihrauch quality🤔

Yep .. agreed. I’m just saying the manual could of been worded better. If both sentences are referring to spring piston guns, then only the second sentence (never fire a spring piston gun) is necessary. Semantics I suppose :)

Jonnes .. I agree with you. See the pic highlighted text. This is from the HW75 manual, but it seems like the info has both SP and SSP models melded together. The second sentence seems redundant if the previous sentence is about spring piston guns. Confusing ... 

Hey guys .. thanks for the feedback. I understand that the HW75 can be dry fired with the methods described; but my curiosity is .. is firing it without a pellet (resistance) potentially harmful as the owners manual suggests? I can’t quite figure out why it would be. Not that I’m going to do it...

Mike .. I believe that only applies to spring piston systems. And yes, dry firing is not a good thing with them. 

I know “dry firing” has been discussed throughout these threads, but specifically when it comes to a SSP (HW75) and others, is it ok to fire without a pellet? The manual says “Avoid unnecessary dry firing (firing without a pellet) in order to prevent wear or breaking of parts.” I can’t really...

Update: I ended up exchanging the P1 for a Weihrauch HW 75, single stroke pneumatic. Pyramyd Air was really good about the exchange, and I’m very impressed with the HW 75 so far. Super build quality, and after it’s broke in a bit, I can assume super accuracy. 

JamesD .. this is the seal pushed in. Looks pretty good, so the channel is likely good.

Guys ... thanks for all the advice and suggestions. I will check the seal after I flush it with my fingers, and take another pic. I think the groove is machined properly, but I’ll verify. As far as the centering of the barrel with the transfer port is concerned, I have looked down the barrel...
