    Tune kits for hw50s

Just stumbled on this thread...I bought a Vortek kit for my brothers 1970s vintage Robert Law ARH HW50 MKII and the piston guide didn't fit correctly. It required some modifications to get the gun to cock. The piston seal was ok but kinda tight, so i sanded down a bit. I think there were...

FWB 124D Has PCP like accuracy.

I also found that the Maccari spring slipped on the rear guide very easily, there was no need to twist it on with force. maybe there's a lot of variance there...

FWB 124D Has PCP like accuracy.

I tried the Maccari power+ upgrade kit and it is now silky smooth and accurate but i don't get over 780 fps with 7.87 gr JSB or HN lites. The 8.4 gr JSBs shoot about 730fps. I think the piston seal might be too tight. How do you know it's the correct OD and when to stop sanding it down...

Why hardly any love for the HW90/RX?

I have an RX-1 purchased in 1991 that I rebuilt recently because I hadn’t shot it much and the piston seal dry rotted. I found a couple of websites with detailed disassembly/rebuilding instructions and also learned about Krytox. Replacement of the piston seal and the two o-rings inside the...

FWB 124 is back to life.

Amazing that the cylinder wasn’t ruined if that gun was fired with the piston in that condition! Congratulations! I had a 30 year old 124 with a crumbling piston seal too, but fortunately replaced it and the spring with the newer designed one. I get about 780 fps with JSB 787s. Its...

Do Beeman silver jets exist anymore?

I used those Mt Star pellets back in the 70s from ARH (Robert Laws) in the orange boxes. Their quality (by appearance at least) was amazing. There was a slightly domed version and then the pointed ones came out later, and also a light weight diabolo pellet. I still have a box of 177 and 20...

Have you or are you using this in your springer..........

I used the Krytox 205 in an old Wischo (BSF) 55N, FWB124, and my HW90. In the HW90 I used it on the gas strut O-rings and it’s been over a year with zero pressure loss. The two steel spring guns got it on all piston bearing surfaces. I stuck with moly grease on pivot points and the cocking...

What is your oldest air gun?

1972 Wischo (BSF) 55N...rebuilt it with synthetic seals, Krytox lubed, sleeved spring. Buttoned piston. Shoots better than new but is pretty beat up!
