    Resources Tirrell/Thomas Death Star

Fun thread! Personally I would call the N50 Machine Rest as it just doesn't seem right to not be in control of the rifle. I think it is much more pure to use a bipod and bag and call it good. In fact I wouldn't be apposed to bipod only. I do agree that only one finals card is weak and I...

Winning score RMAC/EBR - how good relatively?

Yes I see what you did but even the average scores continue to rise. Its not a bad thing the question I see becomes are the guns getting better or is it the shooters getting better.

Winning score RMAC/EBR - how good relatively?

More shooters and more shooters are getting better. I also think if you look at the winning scores over the years it shows the guns are also getting much better. So then one would have to think about a way to measure whether it is more shooters, better shooters or better guns? EBR winning...

Weighed out a tin of .25 JSB 33.95 MK 2's

I shoot for accuracy so I clean, oil and weigh all my pellets. In JSB supposedly 33.95gr, I get a range over 5 tins of 300 33.5 to 35.0 grains. In terms of spread of I keep 33.8 to 34.6 in groups of .1 grains. I throw away all the under and over pellets which in this case ended up being 29%...

Pellet quality control down the tubes!

Interesting point of view. In competitions I have not seen H&N's being used at 50 or 100 yards. Does anyone have experience using H&N's in competition? I would love to find a better pellet than JSB but at least they have updated some designs in the last 10 years. It would seem no...

    USARB Introduction

Mark, Thanks for the work in moving benchrest forward. I have some opinions and ideas use what you like. I would like to see more competitions and a national champion. I think the 25 and 50 yard/meters is perfect and would shoot any of them. Personally the money going into the 100 yard...

    Why 177

I would say lots of goods about 177. I shoot my red wolf in 177 both 16gr pellets and 13 / 16 gr slugs. Really fun to shoot, practice with the 177 against the wind is great and teaches you how to handle the wind. Way more than enough power to take squirrels and birds at 100 yds. Tell me...

    Flag recommendation

Great discussion everyone. Still being newish to shooting I learn more every time I go out and shoot. I actually try to shoot more and longer when it is windy to keep learning. I had a gentleman teach me one day about the wind affect on a shot. First he explained the wind is like a wave in...

    Alternatives to jsb monster rd's ( .22 ) ?

Thanks for starting the subject. I too would like to see an alternative 25gr, long range pellet that works well in the wind. Always wonder why H&N didn't look at that market, as their 21gr just doesn't cut it for the 100 yard benchrest. Does anyone know of a press you could take the JSB 25gr...

    NEW EBR class suggestion

I like the idea very much. Possibly limit the weight of the pellet as well. The new 13gr JSB slug would be fun to use as well.
