Best (Most Accurate) Slug for FX M3 .22?

I'm shooting an MK2 with a 600mm superior std barrel purchased last year from Utah airguns. It is tuned to shoot NSA 23 gr .217's at 980 fps. At 30 yards it does 3 shot groups that are touching if I do my part. I had read that the std barrel liked the .2175 just a little better so I ordered a...

    Dedicated slug rifle Airacuda

When it comes to shooting slugs the best thing you can do is read, read, read, diameter, lube, power, and harmonics are huge factors in success and accuracy.

Can new models of FX airgun shoot slugs Out of the box?

I have a 22 Impact Mk2 with stock barrel shooting 23 gr .217 NSA's at 980 fps, 1/2 inch and under at 50 yards. Almost as good at 75 in no wind, but haven't the room to try further at home.

An experiment to get .22 cal NSA's to pop open easier. It works !!

Having shot many rabbits with pellets and found little damage to their heads when compared to an unmodified NSA 23 gr hollow-point slug shot from my Impact at 980 FPS. The pop the NSA makes on impact compared to a pellets thump, at roughly 50 yards with flesh and bone blown out the backside of...

Experience based opinions on Yong Heng vendors request

If you have or can get soft water from a friend who has it, it is a better choice over the distilled that can be aggressive due to its purity. I'd also add a bottle of water wetter if you plan to reuse the same water, keeps algae down, and helps to cool the head.

Experience based opinions on Yong Heng vendors request

I would recommend the Hardcover unit, fewer things to go wrong, and the weak spot on any of them is the pressure gauge. I have had mine for over three years now and it's working fine. Be prepared to do some periodic repairs, shop ahead so you don't get caught waiting for parts to arrive when you...

What oil are you using in the Yong Heng ?

I don't see any problem with using a very small amount of coolant, I just wouldn't add very much. Between a little coolant and Red Line water wetter, it will help prevent algae from forming in the cooling bucket as well as limit corrosion of the aluminum parts. ( for those who don't change the...

What oil are you using in the Yong Heng ?

Antifreeze doesn't pull out heat as well as water alone does, and it does even better when a water wetter is used to help break surface tension.

What oil are you using in the Yong Heng ?

Your best option is soft water but not distilled as the purity of distilled can cause erosion, soft water is free of the calcium and magnesium that causes scale to form, but not so pure as to cause erosion of the cooling jacket and fittings.

    Yong Heng but another question

I think I would put a new plug on the 220v version before trying to find an adapter, plus the difference in US dryer sockets between old and new, 3 wire versus 4 wire sockets. Just put on a plug that will fit your dryer socket be it 3 or 4 wire.

Recognize this unbranded PCP compressor sold under a brand name? Reliability?

You wouldn't want to do that unless you've bled the pressure, they will stall on startup if still pressurized.

Compressor and bottle suggestions for my budget

I started my pcp journey with a hand pump, later bought a tank and was having it filled, then bought my own compressor so I could fill it myself as much and as often as needed. Personally, I'd rather spend my time filling my guns quickly from a tank when I'm shooting, than waiting for 3-10...

FX impact mk2 or mk 3

I was in almost the same situation as the OP, got my new MKII two weeks before the release date, love my gun but should have been given a slight discount or option to wait on the release of the new model. This would be no different than buying a year-end car model with a slight discount or opt...

Received the Yong Heng Compressor today

I suppose anything is possible, but would require me to have three bad gauges that are all in agreement. The statement earlier about the compressor being a 300 bar compressor as stated by the manufacturer, is that 300 bar is just over 4300 psi, not 4500. Their ad is misleading as it says 300...

Received the Yong Heng Compressor today

Had read multiple posts by people saying they just doubled them up, I'm not willing to do that, defeats the purpose of having it then. Have also read where people have made new ones out of slightly heavier brass sheeting to prevent them from blowing, but then how do you know what pressure they...

Received the Yong Heng Compressor today

I'd say you have been very lucky then. My first burst disc lasted over a year, almost two, then the spares that came with my compressor would pop if I went beyond 4300. I ordered a bunch of new ones, and prayed that my last one wouldn't blow before my replacements arrived. Still have all my...

The only problem is that often the burst disc will blow when going over 4300.

Yong Heng air smells like oil

The type oil you use makes a huge difference, I don't have carbon in my second filter system and have very little smell. Good high-pressure compressor oil for dive compressors will have the least odor, and if you want it to be better, have a layer of carbon in the Tuxing or similar filter system...

Received the Yong Heng Compressor today

I can't speak for others but if the need ever arose, I would buy another, the one I have has served me well for three years now. Other than the pressure gauges, I think most of the early problems have been resolved by improved parts, and a better understanding of the equipment.
