    Ghost or impact

I can’t speak to the Impact, but when the Ghost came out and I handled it at AoA, I liked it so much that I took a chance and traded both my RedWolf HP .22 and Brocock Bantam Sniper .22 for the Ghost .22. Absolutely great result. The Ghost has performed beyond my expectations. It’s easy to tune...

Red Wolf: GCU 2 vs. Heliboard

I considered buying a Leshiy 2 for some time and spent some time researching before "pulling the trigger" on the purchase. Aside from the not-so-good trigger on the L2, the other issues with Edgun, for some of us, are price, the possible pressure hazard with the plenum on the L2, and reputed...

EDgun Deep scratch on Lelya 2.0 air cylinder

VERY unfortunate to hear these negative reports about support from EdGunWest... THE USA source for Edgun guns, service, and parts. I'm steering clear of EdGun, particularly because of these issues, and the Leshiy 2 explosion. Just too much negativity surrounding these guns of such high...

    Airguns you DON'T regret buying.

Did not regret my Red Wolf HP .22, nor my Brocock Bantam Sniper HR .22, both bought in 2018. Great guns! But in time I came to yearn for something short, sweet, and up-to-date... so I traded them for the BRK Ghost Plus .22. No regrets with this magnificent rifle either!

FX Maverick - can it be tuned very low for quiet, close-range/backyard use?

Yes.. I agree. I'd like a complimentary PCP which is a bit lower in potential power than my BRK Ghost. My latest thinking is to go with the either of these two: -FX Dream Tac Compact -BRK Pathfinder to join with my BRK Ghost. (Current tuning of the Ghost is: Reg at 90 bar, HS #5, 18.13gr...

    Thinking I may try FX

If I go FX, now I'm leaning toward the Dream-Tac Compact. The other alternative is the new BRK Pathfinder. Either one in .22 cal. Neither are pushing for high power levels, which is fine with me. For this next gun I'm planning to use it as a low-power, low-noise, close-range shooter. If I need...

    Thinking I may try FX

I keep hearing disconcerting reports of quality problems with FX guns. Considering there is no FX dealer near me, does FX pay for shipping both ways on warranty repairs?

    Huggett Astille Moderator

Nice looking setup, Footloose! And awesome rifle. I wasn't aware of that (Astille) Huggett moderator before now. Have you arrived at a favorite tuning for the Maverick? I'm considering picking up a Mave Compact for some lower-power backyard shooting.

FX Maverick - can it be tuned very low for quiet, close-range/backyard use?

Interesting - somewhat similar performance to the, quite similar, BRK Ghost at factory settings. My Ghost 17", straight out of the box, flew 18.13 grainers at 982 fps. That definitely hits with some potent authority. Happened to be fair bit more potency than I need for my "daily" backyard...

    Thinking I may try FX

Wouldn't the Maverick be a much better choice due to having dual regs? A little more involved in tuning, but not difficult at all.

FX Maverick - can it be tuned very low for quiet, close-range/backyard use?

"Running flat out" - meaning at full power?

Wildcat III has a lot of appeal!

FX Maverick - can it be tuned very low for quiet, close-range/backyard use?

Complete guide to tuning the Maverick - awesome video! Apparently it is safe to run the regs quite low. But not good to run them as high as 180. Steve had great results with the 2nd reg as low as 70 and the 1st reg about 25 bar higher than that (95) - easy on the gun's internals, less...

    Thinking I may try FX

Very nice, beautiful rifle, for sure! I am looking more for another bull pup style, though... just more nimble and handy.

FX Maverick - can it be tuned very low for quiet, close-range/backyard use?

As I recall, FX advises to keep the two regulators within a specific bar pressure range between each other. Do you recall what that spread is?

FX Maverick - can it be tuned very low for quiet, close-range/backyard use?

Could you estimate what your two reg settings were and HS setting was when you were at 720 fps?

    Thinking I may try FX

Bodacious... can you easily change the regulator pressure and the hammer spring weight without having to do any disassembly? And, what are your settings for reg and hammer spring - for resulting FPS or FPE?

    BRK Ghost share your tune?

Erdb... with dialing your reg down to 65 bar, where did you set your HS wheel?

Excellent options to consider, L.L. Thank you.

FX Maverick - can it be tuned very low for quiet, close-range/backyard use?

Jlowe... do you find the Maverick platform to be a trouble-free, fairly simple rifle, overall? I don't need, nor want, the complexity of the Impact, for example. As it isn't something I would do often, I don't mind needing to coordinate the two regulators, along with the hammer spring setting...
