FX AMP Regulator vs. Huma regulator

Huma regs have a much faster refresh rate. Great for speed shooting.

Why you need flags to be successful at 50y

Tommy This cutting matt helps with aligning the front rest with the bag.

Why you need flags to be successful at 50y

Hi Tommy I also have Athlon 6-24x50, the Midas TAC. Great scope for general purpose use. I will have a look at the Sightron again. Thanks for the recommendation. My two friends shoot with the Sightron 10x 50 X 60MM Slll so will probably go that route too. I do have an option on a Leupold...

Why you need flags to be successful at 50y

Thanks, Tommy. I use the same dimensions as the extreme benchrest targets. So the nine ring is 1.250 inches. Here in South Africa, we recently launched our own version of RMAC which we refer to as Airrifle Unlimited. We use the extreme benchrest targets and shoot them at 100m. We also shoot at...

Why you need flags to be successful at 50y

Need lots more work and practice to read those flags better. But enjoying it immensely.

Why you need flags to be successful at 50y

I had time again to practice on benchrest targets at 100m. Wind unfortunately off the charts, as can be seen on one of my wind flags. But managed a few acceptable targets. Started by shooting 3 4-shot groups at a 100m on steel plates and then went over to the BR target, also at 100 meters, or...

What if you love the scope but not the reticle??

It’s the reason why I bought the Athlon Midas TAC. And one day the Delta Stryker. Kurt

    Hopelessly Addicted

Jorge, I ended up at a very similar place as you have, with 2 Impacts, a Wildcat, Steyr FT, Steyr LG110 5.5mm and the brilliant HW30. Recently, I moved the Steyr’s and the Wildcat on. The focus has shifted to making the 2 Impacts consistent and accurate enough to shoot Benchrest at 50m and...

Why you need flags to be successful at 50y

That’s a fantastic result. Well done, Tommy. I’m still learning to read the flags in a more disciplined manner and not rush through the card. I tried two cards at 50m but couldn’t get above 230 this time round. The rifle is accurate enough. We again had a cold front come through on Saturday...

Why you need flags to be successful at 50y

So I shot my first ever benchrest competition yesterday. We started an Airrifle Unlimited series here in South Africa broadly modeled on the RMAC format. This was only the second event and the wind was very erratic changing direction constantly or more snapping from side to side. A cold front...

Tuning The best thing you can do to your PCP as soon as you get it......

Had my superior heavy liner re-crowned by Hein Frommann here in South Africa. The other liner is my original Slug A. It’s made an exceptionally accurate liner even more accurate. All my liners that I use across my two Impacts have been re-crowned.

.22 over 80ft and .25 over 95 ft lb. How?

Both my .22 700mm Impact shooting JSB KOs 25 gr slugs and my 600mm with H&N 27gr slugs, after testing both gun/slug combinations exhaustively at speeds from 1000fps down, have surprised me in that both are most accurate at 885fps. They both run re-crowned, polished and carbon sleeved superior...

    For slug folks.

My slug A in .22 has been incredibly accurate. I bought a superior heavy liner and that has also been incredibly accurate. One thing I did notice is that the Superior Heavy shoots a wider selection of slugs very accurately compared to the Sug A. In .22 H&N and JSB KOs have been consistently the...

Fx mk2 PP vs m3 PP?

I like the upgrades on the M3. Only the dual reg might not deliver more value. Time will tell. The Huma regs in my two Impacts have been very consistent, sometimes as low as 4fps ES. First shot is spot on too, with both guns. And they refresh very quickly. Great for speed shooting. When I...

    Dual Reg and Speed shooting

I can vouch for the lightning fast refresh rate of the Huma regs in my two Impact MK2 PP in .22. Did some speed shooting at a 50mm by 50mm steel plate two weekends ago in windless conditions, and didn’t miss once in 28shots, squeezing shots off as fast as I could cycle and squeeze. And the...

Advice on slugs for FX 700mm X Superior Liner (latest version)

I have had great results from H&N 25 and 27 grain slugs. I have had near identical accuracy from both .217 and .218s. These have been consistently the most accurate of the many slugs I have tested. The JSB KOs in .217 have been nearly as accurately. Currently, in my 700mm it is the most accurate...

Fx impact mk2 convert to mk3?

For me, it’s how one defines performance. I will buy any next model if the design changes allow it to do two things better, 1. It will be more consistent 2. It will be more accurate. More power is not on the list unless it adds to being more accurate. Shooting slugs exclusively through my two...

New FX Impact M3 - Intro

They nailed the looks on the M3. In particular like the improvement to the power wheel and adjuster. I bought my first Impact in October last year and a second one 3 months ago. I really like the Impacts. Both have been absolutely trouble free and shoot slugs very accurately at long distances...
