    StrelokPro no more?

That was so weird. I entered StrelokPro again like I did last night in the search bar and it did in fact pop up, a number of times. Now that I know I would have seen last night. Also thanks for the tip on Amazon.

    StrelokPro no more?

Whoa. First I’d like to apologize. I really did do a search before posting and that thread must’ve been way down there. I don’t know why it didn’t pop up. Second thanks for referring me to that thread. Thirdly, I guess I get it with Ukraine and all. My old phones are to be sent back, they...

    StrelokPro no more?

Got a new iPhone today and moved everything over from the old one. Come to find out when I hit my StrelokPro button it said it’s no longer on the App Store. Which meant I couldn’t refresh it. Anyone else know about this? Beware if you are swapping phones…

    Why headshots

Again it depends on the game. Tree squirrels are infinitely tougher than ground squirrels. I primarily hunt ground squirrels and have found chest shots will drop them within 1-2 seconds after impact. I’ve had tree squirrels take 3-5 chest shots before dropping. So if I get a tree squirrel in my...

The Steyr Pro X - Semi Auto Airgun - The Greatest Trigger Ever

I’ve had the Hunting 5 for about 4 years now. Other airguns have come and gone, but my Steyr is a keeper. I found the triggers to be a little heavy. But either Marlon Layton or M Mahoney had some lighter trigger springs and that changed everything. Like a match trigger now. I was also lucky...

    General capabilities of .22

I primarily hunt ground squirrels with a Steyr Hunting 5 semi auto. It generates about 30ft/lbs of energy at the muzzle. I’ve had no trouble taking them down, some out to 150 yards. But mostly 70-80 yards. I go for center of mass unless they’re in a little closer. Some DRT, some scamper into...

Steyr Hunting 5 Auto Scout .22 - Questions

Yes, you'll be fine. When my Steyr probe lost an o ring I used the Edgun probe. Edgun West sells a probe with the foster fitting built in as one piece. I ordered two a while back and they work fine with my Steyr Hunting 5 semi auto.

Upper Tier - what would you buy?

Batman2, I can't find the poor review you speak of about the March FX 5-40 on Optics Planet. Can you refer me to it as I'd like to know what issues it was referring to. This was the only review I could find on the FX 5-40 and it was glowing: Reviews & Ratings for March Scopes 5-40x56mm FFP...

Upper Tier - what would you buy?

March FX 5-40. It's a first focal plane scope that has a reticle you can actually use in lower magnifications. Parallaxes down to 11yards. Great for everything out to 150 yards,,, (the most I've used it for) but probably a lot farther with a better shooter. Picture is exquisite. Simple...

My perspective on 3 Semi-Auto Airguns - Huben K1, Leshiy 2 and Steyr Pro X

Great write up. Was wondering if any of the Steyr hunting 5 crowd might chime in. So I will. Plus this might help you with the pro-x. The Steyr’s trigger spring is way too heavy. M Mahoney sent me a drop in spring that transformed my trigger to match grade. I have the hunter 5 .22 in the regular...

The semi auto vs cocking lever dilema

Like they’ve said, it’s what you want it for. I ended up with the Steyr H5 semi automatic and here’s why I love it. For hunting it’s very useful. When the ranges get long and the wind is affecting the pellet, it’s nice to see the pellet splash if it’s a miss. You can just move the poi inside the...

    What distance are you shooting?

I have a pasture out to like 500 yards, but my farthest has been 147 yards.

    Ground squirrels multiply fast!

After an o ring rebuild on my Steyr (why wait for a leak) that is the next thing to look into-camera options. Went up the hill in this neighborhood to the man who bought Mahoney’s Steyr. His house faces a plain that slopes up 300 yards back. Perfect backdrop you can shoot almost anywhere. He...

Has anyone heard of the company Airgunus? Looks real shady

Ugh. I read this and the other post late last night AFTER I bought a tin of Hades pellets from them. I went through PayPal and this morning had them cancel the order. They said that site was being investigated because of complaints. Thanks for the heads up.

    Scam sight back up

After a good day hunting with JSB Hades, I was running low. It was late last night so I searched for them on the internet. They came up and had PayPal so I ordered a tin. Came here to post about my hunt and read these two posts about the same site. I went to my confirmation email and emailed...

    Ground squirrels multiply fast!

Oh and the Hades? Very accurate for a hollow point and deadly! Everything center of mass hit was a kill shot. The hits would literally knock them out for a few seconds. Then they would go into their death throws. I like them.

    Ground squirrels multiply fast!

Hi guys! Missed you all for a while. After culling the herds of ground squirrels the past three years, they’re baaaaack. My favorite hunting spot is a rural neighborhood where someone got me into it three years ago and we have since got two other neighbors into it. Kinda funny-one guy got a...

    Spoiled with high magnification

You’ve got it right, low mag is for close in, but when the game is small and the distance is large, give me as much mag as I can get! These damn ground squirrels have a 2x2” kill zone and at 80+ yards, the old eyes like the help!

    Hunting with tripods

So I guess you found out that the tripod has resistance when you move it in any direction so when you fix on a target it is steady. It’s a game changer!
