    How far with a pellet?

I have recently tested my effective hunting range by attempting consistent five shot 20mm groups in real world conditions (specifically not too windy but not still either). I came to the conclusion my Crown in .25 shooting heavies at 870ftps was fine to 90 yards and my Cricket in .22 shooting...

Edgun Matador r3m worth a punt?

Thank you for all the replies. A lot to think about. On balance it sounds like a very accurate rifle and potentially worth a try. Currently shooting a wolverine R which is great but rather cumbersome and not very easy to tune so looking to try a bullpup and edgun has grabbed my imagination.

Edgun Matador r3m worth a punt?

Thanks, I have read about the magazine issue but hadn't thought about parts availability. Pause for thought

Edgun Matador r3m worth a punt?

I am based in UK and so purchasing an airgun over 12ftlbs on a firearms certificate is a long and dreary process, accordingly you want to make sure you get it right. In this regard looking for any comments on an r3m matador (long) as one in .22 is up for sale and is calling to me. Not a lot on...

    Whose your shooting buddy?

I use to hunt with Ragnar, the Czech wolfdog in my avatar until old age sadly took her away. The next year after she passed two foxes took to following me around quite regularly. The sound of my airguns or rimfire now draws them in and they skulk around behind me politely waiting for an easy...

Is there such a thing as a budget Low Power Variable Optic scope?

If you're willing to stretch your budget i would recommend the 1-6x24 Delta Hornet which set me back just over £300. Great glass for the money, made in the Philippines and has two great reticles to chose from. Of the sub £200 scopes I have had good milage from the 2-7 Hawke Airmax.

How many of you have hit a wall with airguns....

As has been said before try going back to basics. Grab a decent Springer like a tx200, stick some pellets in your pocket and go for a walk about. When I get bored of my pcps or powder burners I always really enjoy filling my pockets with some pellets and wondering around the farm like I was...

Nightforce nx8 4x32 or Element Nexus

I have owned an element Titan and was very impressed with the glass for the money; indeed I haven't seen anything to beat it for the same money. The reticle also scaled very well and it tracked perfectly. I ended up selling it as it was just too heavy. I have since bought a second hand NX8 4-32...

My TX-200 needs a new 1 inch tube scope

I run hawke's airmax line on my springers, specifically the 2x7 and 3x9. For the money it is decent glass and they are Springer rated so several years in I haven't rattled them to bits yet. Only thing to watch is the reticle is very fine and can go AWOL when looking up into trees

    "Best?" PCP for offhand shooting...

I have a huntsman and it is very good for off hand shooting, however strangely I get my best results from a Wolverine R as it just seems to fit me perfectly. It is a much heavier rifle than the huntsman but when paired with a 3x15 PST gen ii I rarely miss my off hand hunting shots, albeit I keep...

    Different direction...

I had a similar journey. Based in the UK so like bucket boy I grew up shooting sub 12ftlb airguns and took my fair share of rabbits and crows. Got a bit older and obtained a firearms certificate, went a bit power mad but after a few years I now use one 22 at 30ftlbs and another 25 at 50ftlbs...

    How accurate are your Hades?

In. 22 they are accurate to around 70 yards at 30ftlbs out of my Wolverine R. In. 25 they were okay out of the superior 700mm liner out to 70 yards but after watching Ted's experiment I tried them in the slug A liner and they were fantastic out to 100 yards which was the max I shot them at. I...

    Element Titan 5-25x56 FFP

I bought one a few weeks ago for my. 25 cal Impact. I don't normally jump on a hype train but was looking at the Vortex Strike Eagle and found myself draw in by the Titan and all the hype surrounding it. I was prepared for it to be a heavy scope (which it is) but I was not prepared for just how...

    Are moderators legal for airguns?

In so many ways your gun laws are exponentially better than what we have in the UK. I do however find it odd the hoops you guys have to go through to get a moderator, something that is encouraged by the licensing authorities in the UK. I have a moderator on all my firearms. It can make a...

    FX hybrids .22 optimal speed

I have had success at 750ftps in a Wolverine R. I didn't push them any faster as my. 22 Wolverine R isn't about power at around 30ftlbs. Tested out to 50 yards I could put five shots through a ragged hole with a consistency that really surprised me.

    Someone has tested them????

I use to shoot them out of my streamline with a st barrel to great effect at around 24ftlbs (power wheel at 2). I never shot them beyond 50 yards but they were always very accurate but a little too expensive to use all the time.

Tuning my Impact MKII for .25 cal FX Hybrid Slugs

I have the same setup and I am currently shooting the 25cal hybrids at 930ftps. Reg is on 110bar and valve at just past three. Haven't measured the hs but only added four turns from stock to get it were I wanted it. I tuned for the jsb heavies at 850ftps but it also shot the hybrids lights out...

LET THEM FIGHT ... English vs German

Being Scottish it pains me to say it but I would give my vote to AA despite them being English. I have a prosport and tx200. I have also had a few HW springers but now only have the HW98 and I only keep this around because I am a masochist and enjoy tearing my hair out over groupings expanding...

JSB .25 Heavy MKI vs MKII: Much difference?

I shoot both out of my Impact (700mm with superior pellet liner) at 850ftps and can't really tell the difference at 50 yards. In my old smooth twist the Mark 2s shot better but I think that was related to the streamline magazines.

    Daystate Reliability Survey

I have a Wolverine R in 22 and a Mark4is in 177.i have been running both for a few years now and had zero issues. The Mark4is was second hand and the Wolverine brand spanking new. Both fantastic rifles in my view.
