What is a good moderator for .30 impact the Donny that came with it is loud loud

If for 60 ftlbs and under, STO really does make a discernable difference. All the Donnys except the emperor or a ronin with extender sound the same to me, which is simply loud. My best solution is a heavily modified Huma, where I drilled a hundred 3/8" holes in the walls, emptied the internal...

    Why I love my Veteran

Pickzilla, I have a Vet long in 25 and love it, but my experience too is that it isn't "mouse fart" quiet, even with a handful of moderators I've tried. Curious which guns at around the same power level you'd consider that quiet, because that's what I need. James

Taipan Veteran Long .25 cal slug recommendations?

Anybody else experiencing difficulty with keeping the NSAs in their Vet magazines? The 29s just slide out of mine. Kind of funny to watch, and then it's really annoying. Even prevents clean indexing of the mag when the noses poke out a bit.

Taipan Veteran Long .25 cal slug recommendations?

That's really helpful to hear - thanks for corroborating. I found it odd because I haven't seen that kind of a ratio/relationship between pellets/slugs in other guns.

Taipan Veteran Long .25 cal slug recommendations?

I got the 29.0gr NSAs and put them over the chrony and was pretty surprised. With my JSB heavies set at 860, I thought surely the 29s would fly past 900. But no, they were only going 875. Does this sound right to you guys? Wondering if it has anything to do with small diameter of the 29s and...

Taipan Veteran Long .25 cal slug recommendations?

Renz, have you tried the 29.0 gr dish bases at all? Asking because I remember Air Velocity Sports saying that he thought dish bases worked better thank flat bases. James

TalonTunes - Tony is the man!!

Just a quick shoutout to a man and his business many of us are already familiar with. Tony at TalonTunes has on several occasions now put in the extra ounce or five in terms of duty of care, whether it be a purchase or, most recently, a re-tune. Great products, great tunes, great service, pack...

Crow Hunting is getting close to open

When I was maybe 9 or 10 and aggressively "defending" my backyard with the old Pumpmaster 760, my father, who noticed my indiscriminate killing, once made me dress, cook, and eat a crow. Crows are NOT for eating. The putrid taste (and tough, black, rubbery meat) is forever burned into my...

    Quietest .25 (higher power)

qball, I need 50+ FPE bc there is a crunchy looking pine cone out past 120 that’s just screaming for a love tap! Great suggestions - just may try turning down the reg and hammer and seeing what we can do with a McLobby. Mike, your work sounds both interesting and admirable! Looks like it took...

    Quietest .25 (higher power)

After just a short few weeks with my Taipan 25 Long, it’s already looking likely I’ll never let it go. Maybe favorite gun ever. At 53 ft lbs it may be backyard friendly to most, but it’s not friendly for my backyard. With a decent can (I’ve tested with a Ronin, Mus, and a homemade), it’s...
