    Feral Cats

The same might be said about the Norway Rat, but few would suggest that killing them is pointless. If a second feral shows, starch that one too and save twice as many songbirds.

    Feral Cats

Not much to add, to what’s already been said, but as a ranch owner, I’m trying to maintain wildlife habitat, ergo, I shoot them. Don’t much enjoy it (they’re just out being cats, and somewhere there’s an irresponsible human who’s the real culprit). Nonetheless, they don’t belong in the...

Diana 45 custom carbine at 25 yards. T01 trigger.

That oughta’ do it! At one time, those 45s were the flagship models of the Diana line, their answer to the 124

    Cheap thrills.......

$15 Romanian springer. Sportsman’s Guide was selling them, years back. <500 fps, but EZ cocking, tolerably accurate, accounted for two cottontails and one squirrel.

    Smith & Wesson 79G

Might get closer to double what Bosco suggested, if it’s the earlier, adj. trigger version.

A friend texted me yesterday and asked if I wanted

Someone gave me one of those too. It’s the kind of gun I never would have thought to look for/buy, but I was pleasantly surprised at how accurate and hard-hitting it was. Especially for a BB pistol. Adjustable sights too. Too bad they don’t make ‘em that good anymore

    Co2 pistol recommendation?

Like Knife said, don’t overlook those older single-shot Co2 pistols. Have a 150, 79G and a Mk1. All fine, hard-hitting pistols. This Mk1 w/stock barrel will give a match pistol a run for its money (on a good day!)

    Red Dot/Reflex Sights?

I put an inexpensive TruGlow on an old El Gamo 68. It’s fairly low powered (500 fps in .22), but really effective across the yard. Tightened-up groups on paper too. Likely not as forgiving of rough handling as a good scope or stock irons, but a fun option to have. Wouldn’t want one on every gun...

    TMAC's Air Gun Service

Had repairs from him exactly twice. Does good work, but tends to run slow.

Effects of valve-stem length on Co2 performance...

Here’s what I got: Gun is a Higgins branded Crosman 180, with no provisions for adjusting hammer strike. It’s a real gas hog, 20-25 good shots before power starts dropping. Would like to rein it in some. Thinking, if I shortened the valve-stem a tad, the valve-blow would be abbreviated, and...

    1389 backpacker steel breech

Forgot, but when my 1389 was re-breached I had a longer barrel installed. Barrels aren’t expensive. Maybe your easiest way to get ur gun right. About having 2 transfer ports, if the old one is behind the newer, and behind the bolt oring, then your pressure should be contained

    1389 backpacker steel breech

Had it done, yrs back, by the “Crooked Barn”. Looks identical to the one they installed on my 1322, so we know it can be done. And yup, that cheesy plastic swing out tap blows. A new breech is a great upgrade (especially with a shoulder stock and 14” barrel)

    Giving away my collection

I’d keep the window-cleaner. Pretty good for mopping the bore between shoots.

    Barrel Polishing

Good info posted already. I’ve also had good results with fire-lapping (I use fine valve lapping compound). I use a Qtip with the swab cut off to make a ‘stick’, dab some into the breech, fire 3 shots, repeat. During the process, I’ll clean, inspect and check grouping. A sharpened pencil...

    Headless Chickens

Try setting a live-catch trap after dark. Bait with sardines, dog food etc. Gotten lots of coons that way, and once, a big grey fox (unusual, because they don’t normally go into a box trap). Got chickens too. Keeping them alive is hard

    How old is this?

Got one of those, (Crosman branded) and yeah, looks like a SA6. Good chance it’s just the donut-seal that seals where the ctg is pierced. These tend to crumble with age. Should be the same one used in the 38T. Mac1 sells these with the piercing unit as a set. Advisable to replace both. Can be...
