I love mine. .22 Hunter version. Added HUMA reg. and did the usual trigger mods. It is my grab and go pester. Added Limb Saver slip on butt pad for 1" added LOP.

The Pileated woodpeckers are huge. 12" - 18" tip to tail. Regulars at my suet feeder. Mine are usually the 12"-ish size. I have never seen any woodpeckers at a hummingbird feeder though.

The Limb Saver pads are awesome for an added 1" LOP. Super flexible. Just note basic butt shape and pick the right sized one. I tried other brands. What a waste.

In some cases, the mag pawl/arm would over travel and strike the probe. Actuator pins breaking, mag pawl/arms breaking, probes dented and chipped. I cut that end of the arm off two mags. Works fine. Like any linkage, if that pin is {{still}} rising (and the pawl/arm is on the probe),... things...

The big domestic ones can put a thumpin' on you with the hind legs/feet. Like mini-kangaroos they be!

I cut the bolt/probe side arm off my magazines. Works fine. (old style mag.) I forget now where I heard/saw it,... but a fellow put his finger on top of that pin and fired the rifle. He put a hole in his finger! So,... I would guess that the pin comes up with a bit more than a "puff" of air.

Make sure the scope turrets are not run out too far (if you had to keep running them out when sighting in). If moderator equipped, insure there is no pellet clipping there. You should be getting dime or nickle groups at 20 yards.

Overall,... I like the concept very much. That is from someone that has a .25 PelletGage.

The UTG is a bit stiff. I modified mine heavily (shortened and drastically sculpted the eye piece). In the end, it was perfect. That was on a .25 M-rod. I would look for something else if getting another one. It took a lot of trim/try/trim/try/trim/try time.
