Other Smallest break barrels on market?

It seems like all the good stuff is vintage. I have several smaller guns that I originally got for my kids, but I love shooting them too - all you need is a tin can and a pocket full of pellets and it's just like being 10 years old all over again! The Diana 24D is no longer in production, and...

    Weihrauch HW55

A beauty, John. Question - what's the story with the front sight - it doesn't look like the typical hooded Weihrauch unit you'd expect to see, especially on a gun with a diopter

    Classic break barrel spring rifles

Welcome to AGN, WR! Beautiful springers, and nice shop as well!

I need a pellet rifle. .177 that my 12 yo daughter can cock without much trouble

If budget is key, this is also good way to go instead of an HW30. Made in China, but decent and if you get one that Flying Dragon (Mike Melick) has tuned, that should be quite nice.

I need a pellet rifle. .177 that my 12 yo daughter can cock without much trouble

Third on this (take a close look at my profile pic!) The importance of proper form should not be understated, and the 14"-ish length of pull on an HW30 or other similar adult air rifles is just too long for younger kids. My Embark has proven to be highly accurate and easy to shoot well. It's no...

Recommendations for a .177 springer for my 9-year-old daughter?

+1 on this. And I'd avoid the BB guns - the accuracy sucks, the ricochet potential of a bb is too dangerous, and to top it all off, most of them have a full-size length of pull too (e.g., a Red Ryder is 14", just like a full-sized rifle). I wrote a lot about this a couple years ago (on this...

Best budget springer if you HAD to stay under $200?

OP here. I don't post much, and almost never start a new topic, but really needed some guidance on this one, so I posed a question. My goal was to (hopefully) get a neighbor involved in something we all enjoy a great deal, so I was looking for advice on what would be his best bet and what to...

Best budget springer if you HAD to stay under $200?

Based on my research and the replies here, I'm going to recommend to my acquaintance that he go for a pumper rather than a cheap springer. I think his best bet is to wait for the new Seneca Dragonfly, since it's supposedly going to be shipping soon. If he doesn't want to wait, maybe a Benji 392...

Best budget springer if you HAD to stay under $200?

I'd have to agree - my air arsenal is 100% springer-based, but this is highly intriguing. It looks like they were originally supposed to start shipping these in early May, but that's now been pushed back until mid-June. I assume supply-chain issues, but I'm speculating.

Best budget springer if you HAD to stay under $200?

Maybe so, but I like to see people get bitten by the airgun bug, so I feel obligated to help. Who knows, maybe he starts out with a piece of junk and then (after having a chance to mess around with some of mine) comes around to realize that there might be more to this than can be found at...

Best budget springer if you HAD to stay under $200?

An acquaintance of mine asked for my advice on buying a "pellet gun" for plinking and maybe dispatching the occasional pest, but doesn't want to spend more than $200. For me, the answer was simple: Spend more money and buy an HW30 or HW50 that you can pass along to your children's children...

Dirty Thirty! Show us your cool HW30s/R-7s!

My Blue Laser - HW30 Urban Pro, tuned by John in PA and wearing a Clearidge Ultra 3-9, Maccari trigger guard, and a Wolf can (since replaced with a considerably shorter Donny Tanto). Originally, this gun had a laminate stock on it, but I also had an extra take-off with some nasty scratches in...

Custom stock Springers: show us what you have

I need some better pics, but this is all I've got now. Top to bottom: CS500 R1, CS800 for an HW98 (or 95), and R9TK with a David G stock (with the 98 again). The CS stocks are a bit on the chunky side, but I love it on my beast of a R1. I haven't decided if I'm going to keep the CS800 and HW98...

    HW30S Urban Pro

I believe all Weihrauch branded deluxe stocks for the HW30 don't cover the breech block. The bottom pic (with the breech block covered) looks like the standard stock. The Beeman branded version (the R7) has a Deluxe-style stock that does cover the breech block.

    Barrel droop with open sights?

Hold on - let's just focus on typical springer ranges. At what range are you hitting 5" low? If I read correctly, it was at 10-15 yards, correct? What about at 20, 30, and 40 yards? Does it just get lower and lower? "Droop" refers to a condition where the barrel isn't parallel to the cylinder...

    Rapid seal failure.

thumper's theory makes the most sense to me. The erosion in the center of the Vortek seal looks like scorching - like the temps are getting too high and vaporizing just a tiny bit of the seal with each shot, which suggests it's oversprung. The OE seal, on the other hand, is flat, leaving no lip...

What in the world is this? A new DIANA!?!

It's not a Diana, it's basically (but not exactly) a Walther Terrus assembled in the USA of German-made components. RWS is only a distributor/importer of Diana in the USA, and looks to be taking advantage of the fact that people often confuse get that confused by marketing a name that evokes...

A very serious question about springers

I always take it off - most of my guns are 98%+ and I like keeping them that way!

    Which rifle would you keep?

Welcome to AGN! And welcome to Michigan! Where are located? On the question posed, I'd say it depends on what else is in the herd and what you typically shoot. If it's going to be one, all around gun for plinking, target and hunting, I'd lean to the .20 because of the advantage taking game...

Help me decide the caliber of my next purchase - HW35e

I've got the HW35 in both and like both. For iron sights, under 25 yards, I'd say you're fine with either. .It will develop a little more power in 22, they're easier to handle, and you already have some .22 guns. So, if it was me, I'd go with .22 Let's make it easy: I'll trade you my...
