You can fill it more than half, it will expand and contract with temps. Personally id do 75% without worry of any issue. It expands but not as much as you think.

unless its so controlled you wont see a difference. locked in a vice on a bench in no wind etc... Glad someone found these to not spiral for them past 25yds.
