Does work. I did it a few days ago for the same purpose. There's a mold "seam" on the forestock that I used as a centerline. Drilled and used two short but chubby screws to fasten a little piece of picatinny rail. So far so good.

Saw a Turkish video of it shooting 805 FPS regulated with 18.1 gr JSBs. That's giving around 26 FPE. I'm sure it can do a little better. It'll be interesting to see what BWalton does with it.
