N/A Muzzle energy varies with pellet weight, WHY?

I stand corrected, in a perfect system my response would have been valid...lot's of info out there on the intarwebs... https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=167742.0 Thanks for keeping me honest!

N/A Muzzle energy varies with pellet weight, WHY?

Hate to say it, but an air rifle, whether gas ram or pcp, will have a set (constant) energy value. As the pellet weight increases, the velocity will decrease and the energy as it leaves the barrel should be roughly the same. If you're getting more energy with heavier pellets, then the system is...

    Candy Cane - Shooting Challenge!!

So here's is a 5 minute or so video of my trying to hit small things... I shot this out on my bottom deck so let's call it 38 feet, using my Benjamin Regal .22 cal rifle (read: cheapo Big 5 gun). The victims were 2 bells and an ornament... the original video was 16 minutes so I cut out all of...

What are your best shooting, inexpensive Air Guns, that you own

Benjamin Regal NP (.177 and a .22)... $100 guns from Big 5 that like any pellet you feed them. The .177 gets about 12.5 ft-lbs with 7.4 gr. and the .22 about 15 ft-lbs with 14.3 gr. Beeman Dual Caliber... roughly the same price as the Regals (same store - gotta love weekly sales with an extra...

Questions for you magnum & gas ram owners

Had to remove it once or twice to get it real close, then use the scope adjustments (elevation only). It was worth the effort!

Questions for you magnum & gas ram owners

I have 2 of the Beeman 5039 1-Pc Adjustable Mount w/1" Rings, High, 9.5-11mm Dovetail. Optically centered my scopes using the mirror trick and then adjusted the mount to get on center. One-piece, very sturdy, don't move on my rifles. I also use lock washers on both the scope mount and the...

    Best air gun under $100

I agree with Mtruitt1971 and the Beeman dual barrels... I have the regular one ("Big" store special) and it shoots at ~15 ft-lbs at the muzzle (.22 cal 14.3 gr. pellets). I have left this one open sights and the only complaint is the (small) twang of the spring... My NP rifles are definitely...

    Trail NP Pellet Choice

The .22 caliber Crosman Destroyers are now labelled as Benjamin Destroyers... available at Wallyworld (read: inexpensive). They shoot well out of my Benjamin Regal NP. If I'm in one of their stores and they have them, I buy all of the tins! Greg

    Benjamin Nitro Piston Extended Review

I have to agree with you guys... I own a couple Big 5 Benjamin NPs and they all shoot well enough for the ground squirrels and gophers in my yard, out to 50 yards. Just practice, practice, practice! The good thing is they like the Benjamin Destroyers (.22 caliber formerly made by Crosman) you...

    Tiny Targets At Short Range

When I lived in the Bay Area before retiring, I used to shoot coins (13 yards, quarters mostly) and beer caps in my basement. Best was shooting a spent C02 cartridge on its side, into the opening. Still have it... Took me 3 tries! Greg
