How Many Of You Keep A Shot Count For Your Guns?

Tin counting doesn't work for me since my three springers all happen to like the same pellets and I don't keep separate stacks of tins of the same pellet. I guess I could but I don't. I have a general idea of what I've shot through each one but I could be off a good bit in my estimates...

What brand pellets are considered to be made from \"hard lead\"?

I don't remember the details. I have found the pellets that my air rifles like and stocked up on them. I only care how they shoot not which ones might be harder than others. I also seem to recall that the differences weren't that dramatic.

What brand pellets are considered to be made from \"hard lead\"?

Somebody over on GTA did some hardness testing on a number of different pellets. As I recall the results were a bit inconsistent. Perhaps it was the testing method.

    Old man springer

Well I am definitely in the old man category at 75. I have an HW30 in .177, same rifle as the R7. It definitely meets ALL of the criteria you listed. I can shoot mine all day long.

Input on the Diana 34 EMS?

I don't believe that one on ebay is a 34 EMS. It looks like the previous model 34.

Hey all of you air gun shooters out there…

I am not a frequent contributor here but I do enjoy the forums. Happy Thanksgiving all.

Whats your favorite air gun and why?

My Diana 280 with Sightron scope built for me by Hector Medina. Modest power at 10.75 fpe, smooth, quiet and accurate. For me it has perfect size, weight and balance. It has an absolute dream of a T06 trigger that breaks clean at 8 oz. This rifle does everything I want it to do

    Underlever VS Breakbarrel

Barrel droop has nothing to do with the precision of the rifle. If a break barrel has droop then you adjust for it one way or another. Hardly ever is a rifle and scope combination zeroed in from the start. Adjustments need to be made. You can be just as accurate with either. It is about the...

REVIEWS is it just me being old??

Well if I am interested in a particular gun I will watch as many different reviews as possible including the good, the bad and the ugly. I figure if I watch it all I get a good complete picture that balances out any prejudice or incompetence. I figure that even a real dumb dumb might have some...

commercially available pellet traps for up to .22

I have put together similar box traps except I have used old rags and clothes for stuffing. The only drawback is the aggravation of getting the pellets out of the box stuffing. I use a big box target I framed out of lumber and stuffed with cloth for an archery target. It has worked great for ten...

commercially available pellet traps for up to .22

That Target Forge trap looks nice for the money. I kind of wish the opening was 8" x 8" though. But I think I will order it for those shooting times when I want to keep the pellets contained. Most of the time I am shooting into a berm I have built up out back.

How many airguns do you Fn need?

I guess I'm an oddball. I don't NEED any. But I have three rifles and two pistols. Those five allow me to do all of the types of shooting I enjoy doing. And that is what I enjoy...shooting. If one of the guns I have breaks I will probably WANT to replace it. But those five do everything I ask of...

Pellet prices are catching up to rim fire.

I don't know what pellets you are comparing but while pellet prices have risen somewhat I don't see anything in the same ball park as current rimfire prices. I have to assume you are talking .22 for a valid comparison. I only shoot .177 so I can't directly compare. But I only shoot quality...

    Just venting

I tend to agree with the damned if they do and damned if they don't assessment. If they put it in a box and the shipping is higher then it should have been put in an envelope. If they put it in and envelope and it is lost or damaged then why didn't they put it in a box. It isn't hard these days...

    Pulling the trigger

I could be wrong but I don't believe he is talking about your contact point with the trigger. I believe he is talking about which joint you pivot in order to move your contact point to the rear and depress the trigger. As most have indicated I use the pad of my index finger for contact. But the...

Value on a motorhead tuned hw50s

While I don't question the potential value of a tune up to the individual paying for it I am not sure what if any resale value it adds. I have never seen any aftermarket work done on virtually any item hold up in resale. It might add something to the price but rarely any where near the initial...

ADVICE NEEDED - HOW DO YOU SHIP YOUR GUN FOR REPAIR?

I have had real good shipping experiences with UPS, Fedex and USPS.. I have had real bad shipping experiences with UPS, Fedex and USPS. Pack it well. Insure it well. Pick a carrier and keep your fingers crossed. I really don't believe it matters what carrier you choose.

Suggested Air Rifle for Garden Pest Protection

A modestly powered, quality springer will do everything you need to do and be less difficult to learn to shoot well. You can get a Weihrauch HW50 or a Diana 34 to reach out that far with no problem. Or check Flying Dragon for one of his Chinese clones. You can get it tuned by them and still be...
