    Tuning HW90 barrel droop

I lucked out and was able to buy a totally trashed HW80 barrel on ebay. LOL. The guy's description sounded apologetic, he knew it was not salvageable. But it has been perfect for my purposes, so I should thank him. The issue is that both of my HW90's have barrel droop. About 0.5 degrees at the...

    Tuning HW90 Weihrauch gage teardown

My HW90 ram pressure gage started to bind and got progressively worse until it froze. Normal operation of the Weihrauch gage is to press down on the top of the gage. That telescopes the gage closed and forces a small pin out of the end, which contacts the schrader valve in the back of the...

Tuning Installing a brass cup and screw kit

I recently installed a cup screw kit from AoA in my HW90. They don't provide much direction. Here's how I did it. The cups are made deep enough to house both the screw head and the lock washer. But I wanted to minimize the amount of wood I removed from the stock. It's already fairly thin. So...

    HW90 potential

I just had the most remarkable experience with my .22 HW90. I have been experimenting with power levels and different barrels. A couple of days ago I got around to installing a Vortek 30mm Vacuseal piston seal, and tried some shot strings with different pellets and gas ram bar levels. Here's a...

    [WTB] Weihrauch HW90 muzzle brake

I removed the iron sights, have been using a red dot. AoA are out of these muzzle breaks right now.

    Tuning HW90 tuning discoveries

Well, I finally bought a HW90. There have been several posts about low power, hard cocking, weight and general tuning questions. I decided to bite the pellet, buy one, and figure out what’s going on. So I ordered a new .25 from AoA. I also ordered a Weihrauch HW90 pressure gauge and a .22...

    Hill EC3000 crank oil

I love my Hill EC3000, but $10 for 50 ml of crank oil is a bit much. Curiosity got the better of me. The Hill manual calls it H8000 oil. I found the Pennine Lubricant Company, located near Hill in Sheffield, England, sells an H8000...

How to finish new HW100 sporter walnut stock

I bought a new HW100k sporter about a year ago. I was surprised that the walnut stock appears to be unfinished. It does have a light stain with some rubthrough on the high spots. Is this normal for Weihrauch walnut stocks? My other Weihrauch rifles have a durable factory finish.

Tuning Are Weihrauch breakbarrel barrels interchangable?

I recently read that some later model Weihrauch barrel assemblies are interchangeable. In other words, would it be possible to install an HW98 barrel assembly in my HW95? Or put the shorter HW95 barrel on an HW90?

    Theory behind HW90 Inertia piston

OK, I've been looking all over to find a decent explanation of how the HW90 inertia piston works. In one of the threads, Fischer posted a link to the Theoben patent. It was interesting but seemed like a complex mishmash of smoke and mirrors. I did some more searching on the internet but found...

Any issues with higher power springs?

I'm curious if people see mechanical issues related to stronger springs, such as cracks in the cylinder, increased wear on the trigger mechanism, or damaged seals or guides. I irecently nstalled spring kits in my HW30 and HW95. I like the twang reduction and modest power increase.

    Vortek kit problem

I ran into a problem installing a Vortek PG3 kit in my new HW95. The new spring assembly fits well into the piston and cylinder but takes high pressure to compress. I was just barely able to get the breech plug into the gun and assemble it. My spring compressor is a woodworking table and vise...
