FX The outrageous cost of High quality airguns WOW

I know that most of the club volleyball teams around here have paid coaches. Granted, they don't get paid much; a few hundred dollars for 25 practice sessions and eight games. But I bet it's easier to hire someone at basically token wages than it is to get someone to volunteer and commit to it.

FX The outrageous cost of High quality airguns WOW

I bet we're right in the middle of the bell curve, as far as hobbies go. I have a friend who has a $1K or so beater offroad bicycle, and a fancy one that by the time you add up all the fancy aftermarket parts probably cost him about $4K. He'd probably be 95% of the way there with a Diamondback...

Daystate I do not know if should be angry or happy.

Mine shoots better than I do. I remember when I was looking at it, more than one post/video was saying just what you said. "The end of the barrel is butt-ugly, but shoots better than fine."

Air Venturi Refilling an Avenge X (complete Newbie)

My first airgun as an adult was a Gamo, and it had the same issue; wanted to shoot low. I got to experience the joys of MOA adjustment, with added springer flavor.

    Totally new here.

    That's some catch, that Catch-22.

Air Venturi Refilling an Avenge X (complete Newbie)

This might want to be in a separate thread. I ran into this with my Avenger, and it isn't uncommon. Bear with me because I might be screwing up the terminology. Out of the box, my Avenger's POI was always lower than my scope's POA out of its box. They were so far apart that the scope's POA...

Daystate I do not know if should be angry or happy.

Not that Air Venturi == Daystate, but Avenger barrels are uncrowned. Or at least they used to be.

Air Venturi Avenger air leak problems?

My Avenger will leak out of the relief valve unless you hulk that thing down. It has to be tight, then a little more. I always feel like I'm going to screw it up one day doing that.

Air Venturi Refilling an Avenge X (complete Newbie)

One thing about airgunning as a hobby is that there are a bunch of secondary rabbit holes to go down into. Go look at the optics forum, or the one on tanks and compressors. Ex: some folks get deeply involved in getting the most out of their Yong Heng compressor, others will buy the $115...

Air Venturi Refilling an Avenge X (complete Newbie)

Sorry to hear about your Lyrica experience. I had a doctor prescribe gabapentin for my sciatica (getting old sucks), and when I saw the list of side effects I decided I'd just double up on Advil. To keep it in thread, I love my Avenger!

What did you do airgun related today.

Ares Tactical. I exchanged emails with them, and while they didn't have a parts list available they did have a regulator assembly. They must've had some spares.

    Please Explain

Google 'Zenni' for your eyeglasses. You'll still need to get your prescription, but they're way cheaper at Zenni. Some crazy percentage of eyeglass retailers and brands are owned by luxxotica. Like 75-80% Stolen from Wiki: "Luxottica retails its products through stores that it owns...

What did you do airgun related today.

I'm a year behind you; 64 next month. My memory ain't what it used to be but... That memory crack is the lead in to a dumb joke that I say whenever I forget something. A: They say that memory is the second thing to go. B: What's the first? A: I don't remember. Just to stay on-topic, I...

What did you do airgun related today.

Chasing Leaks: The Leakening. This time it was from the regulator gauge. The Rainson doesn't have a pressure relief valve; you can unscrew the bottle then let the air out of the regulator through the regulator gauge. Seems like a pretty jakey way to do this, but maybe I was spoiled on my...

What did you do airgun related today.

I got a new regulator assembly for that Rainson Edge I've been playing with. It came in the mail today, and I replaced my old regulator. It's sitting there aired up while I'm goofing off on the internet working, and I'll check it in a little bit to see if it holds air. Fingers crossed. I also...

    Nickel, Dime, Dollars 😂

I'm one of the lucky few (or not so few) than can shoot from my three-season room. I've got a pellet trap, a berm behind that, and about a mile of cornfields behind that.

Air Venturi Air Venturi Avenger Buck Rail Chassis

Your message reminded me about what it was I had to sand on. when I first installed it. I was using a longer screw for the trigger, and it ran into some plastic that was in the way. I had to file part of it off to let the trigger screw fit. It was either that or replace the screw that was in...

Air Venturi Air Venturi Avenger Buck Rail Chassis

Looks like you're fine to me. :) You're making me want to spend some $$$ on a good bipod; these Chinesium ones I bought aren't very good.

Air Venturi Air Venturi Avenger Buck Rail Chassis

It could just be the weight difference on my part. The wooden stock is a lot heavier than the Buck Rail stock. For Minute of Squirrel (as they say) the Buck Rail is fine, but I'm trying for the smallest groups I can get.
