    Ground squirrel appreciation thread

Last time I shot a GS was in the early 90s. I used a RWS Diana 34 anniversary model. I made a really lucky head shot on a GS at approximately 85 yards. I held about the height of a GS over shooting a 10.65 H&N pellet. I think it was going about 760 fps.

N/A old man that is newby to air guns

I would also like to add, .177 and.22 pellets are much easier to get locally. My last 2 air rifles I've bought were springer/gas piston. I do like the simplicity of a springer or even a pump pellet rifle. I don't know what the fpe is required for a GH as I've never shot much less seen one. I...

N/A old man that is newby to air guns

They're right, springers are not easy to be accurate with. The higher the power the harder to be accurate with. Consistency is the key to shooting one. You have to hold it exactly the same way if you want the POI to be the same as the POA every time.

N/A Will a gas piston trash a scope like a springer?

The only gas piston springer I've had any experience with is my hatsan 135 and I don't think any scope could possibly survive on that monster.😯 It recoils forward so violently it stings my trigger finger.

FX FX MK4, .25 Cal. A little disappointed?

Another thing does your rifle have a pin probe or pellet probe! The pin probe allows more airflow than the pellet probe. If you buy a slug liner get the slug kit. It will have the heavy hammer and hammer spring along with the adjustable pin probe.

What is everyone going to do tomorrow between 8 and 12.

I'll be hauling 1000 gallons of water up to the house. I live off grid so all water and propane has to be hauled up the 5.5 mile unmaintained dirt road. I have solar for power.
