    30-Yard Challenge

Hi Guys, So immediately after installing the 500mm barrel back onto my green Crown Mk2, I shot and submitted the 197 40-Challenge with it on 6/18. Today is the 1st time I shot it since. I figured I'd shot a 40-Masters in the sweltering 95 degrees and humid heat we have in Connecticut today...

Great shooting Joe ! I assume this 247 is also with the AEA 29.5g pellets at 975fps?

    30-Yard Challenge

thomasair showed how much shooters are pushing the boundaries of what is possible with competition grade rifles and top notch trigger pulling… … see post# 3222 where he submitted a 198 13X Masters card at 50 meters (55 Yards) ! Definitely need some good scope magnification at 55 yards, lol . -Ed

Ah, that definitely explains a few things… for example, it explains why Marvin never seems to miss the bullseye …

    30-Yard Challenge

As you guys are all getting so good with the scores that you have been posting... ... thought you might like to see & try out the types of targets that the International Benchrest Guys (like Rickie the Airgunnero) shoot in competitions. Attached is the WRABF 25 meter (27.34 yards) Benchrest...

    30-Yard Challenge

Speaking of Crowns... I swapped the 700mm barrel off of my .22 Crown and swapped the 500mm back on. I had been shooting heavier pellets with the long 700mm barrel since last fall. The rifle shoots great with the 700mm, but it was always insanely accurate with the 500mm shooting 18.13g. I was...

    30-Yard Challenge

Awesome card Greg - we will use it to replace your "Mulligan" card - although we know that your mulligan card was legit - that the extra shot was not intentional. Great shooting with that Crown...

    30-Yard Challenge

Yes, you can use your .25. We have some .25 caliber on the leaderboards. Please use a .22 scoring plug with the .25 - it works fine as the .25 holes are still slightly smaller than the .22 plug. -Ed

    30-Yard Challenge

Agree - your awesome card will be posted on next 30-Challenge leaderboard as 200 18X 👍 Incidentally, I'm working on the next Leaderboard Update - I had wanted to get it posted by 6/15/25 but I'm running behind - had some good shooting days, lol.

    30-Yard Challenge

Yes. It is mandatory. 30/40-Challenge rules have always been to drop your two lowest scoring target pairs. 30/40 Masters rules have always been 20 targets - all count. Maximum score has always been 200 - as we always use just 20 targets to count towards score - whether Challenge or...

    30-Yard Challenge

Great card Tommy !! You cannot submit as a Masters, as you shot more than 20 targets. You have 20X scores on Target Pairs #4, 5, 6 and 7. Submitting the card as a 30-Challenge, you drop two of the 20X pairs. This would score your card as a 30-Challenge of 200 18X… … do you agree? -Ed

    30-Yard Challenge

Wow, a classic - love the silver Sightron. That is an amazing X count on Masters cards - from a rifle you havshot in years. What is the trigger pull weight on that .177 RAW?

    Crossman 760, so disappointing.

Lol, after a few years hunting, maybe when I was 16, my Dad let me switch to one of his Ithaca Featherlight 12 gauge pump shotguns. After using the Ithaca, I was thinking the old man was abusing me with the Topper…. but I kept my mouth shut so I could keep using the Ithaca pump.

    30-Yard Challenge

Thanks Greg. Just a bit lucky on the 200. I shot 20 straight Xs without taking any sighters in between - that’s not a winning benchrest technique. Conditions were almost still - so I held on the left edge of the 10-ring for those last 20 shots. I think having a couple beers had me relaxed...

    30-Yard Challenge

Leaderboard Submission. The only card I shot yesterday. Finally got some almost still conditions near dusk. 30-Challenge: 200 20X Rifle: .177 FX Crown Mk2 (380mm) Pellet: AEA 8.72g @ 900-915fps Scope: Sightron SII 36X I came home after an all day outing. Had a good beer buzz still. Becky...

    Crossman 760, so disappointing.

Wow, that was my 1st rifle too - H&R Topper 12 gauge single shot shotgun. Totally forgot it was H&R - just remembered Topper. Kicked like a mule into my 12 year old shoulder as I recall.

Giving Crosman Domed Pellets their due

Awesome shooting with the “Crazy Crosmans” Jimmy ! I believe we only have 3 rifles that have shot 190+ with .22 Crosman Premier pellets at the 30-Yard Challenge during the two years I’ve been the coordinator. Your Bullshark is now the 4th. I recall an FX Maverick, I think TommyB had a rifle...
