Maybe I'm making a mistake, but 0.1% of 18 grains is 0.018 grains, rounded up to 0.02 grains. And 0.1% was the tolerance claim. 1% tolerance, plus or minus, is already a 2% range. That would actually be too much for an H&N production batch.
The Baracuda Match is actually the same pellet as the Baracuda. We select particularly good-shooting production lots for the "Match" and offer them in different head sizes. The additional effort isn't worth it (yet) for the .25 caliber, as globally there's far greater demand for .177 and .22.
These are our Baracuda Match in an old packaging (15 years and older). Here is our current product website with basic information: https://www.hn-sport.de/en/air-gun-hunting-target-shooting/baracuda-match-177 Stay away from Amazon for ordering pellets. They package the tins extremely poorly.
Okay, now I have to apologize. We did NOT send any Precision Slugs to PA with the last shipment. I don't know what the hell I saw yesterday in our ERP system. I'm very embarrassed.:( Maybe there were some hallucinogens in my coffee... I will add some to next shipment which is in preparation.
Our current machines are not suitable for pellets in caliber .30 and above, and we had to admit that at the end of this project. However, we have not buried the project forever, we just cannot continue working on it at the moment.
I have no idea where that story comes from, but, sorry, that's nonsense. We would have loved to keep the product in our range and it would also have been profitable.

Can you please send us the batch numbers to [email protected] (they are on the bottom label, a photo is OK too)? If these pellets really have such a large weight deviation, we need to have a serious talk with our colleagues in the pellet production.
I would be cautious with slugs/bullet-shaped pellets in a break-barrel rifle. Sometimes they don't fit all the way into the "chamber" and get deformed when closing the breech.
