As your elevation dope needs to be so refined..., how do you FT guys deal with rifle POI change due to large ambient temp change over the course of the match? For my squirrel rifles, I see about a 10fps change over a 30F swing in ambient temp.

I tried the AEA brand 18s & 22s in same rifle recently. While I can't remember exact velocity difference, I do remember affect. The 18s wanted slower velocity and the 22s wanted higher velocity. In other words, if you had a tune for the 18s, then the 22s were going too slow. And vice-versa...

Would love to see Macavity offer their rifle in an optional stock model. Something wood in a traditional design with a raised comb and long forearm.

I was only pointing out that there are some rifle options newly available from US vendors that were only available from a couple out-of-country vendors prior. Certainly these newly available rifles aren't of interest to some, but others might be happy to find them available here in the 'States'...

If you are like me and favor more traditional rifle designs, you know that fewer and fewer options are available. Manufacturers focus (sadly) has been on Bullpup and Benchrest specific designs as of late. And also at ridiculous high price tags! One of our major vendors here in the US is now...

I agree, and understand your goal. With the way my squirrel hunts go I could shoot for several days without a fill using your rifle! :cool: My point was that the key to low ES and lot's of shots from an unregulated rifle is having a large air reservoir.

With as much air onboard as Motorhead's rifle has he could tune it to an ES of 5fps for lot's of shots if that was what he wanted out of it.
