I have acquired quite a few springers, and only early this year got my first SSP rifle after having 3 pistols. I am resisting the PCP route, because of all the accessory equipment needed, the expense and finally a place to put more guns and a compressor.

I went all in on a FX Bobcat for my first PCP and never regretted it, it was a .25 with unbelievable accuracy and a power wheel. I shot a banana spider out its web from 70 yards, left his 8 legs spread accross his web.:D

...getting it strait from the manufacturer? I will still get the Compressor from PA. I was just curious on your thoughts. Maybe also any thoughts on the Talon SS as a first PCP? I like the single shot ability, I would probably single load even if there were a magazine available. Thanks, Jim

Reximex nyx but I'm sure we all knew that by now. I have the Gunnar and it's extremely accurate. Underpowered. But dependable and not a bad first PCP. Mine came with a compressor so the gun only came out to about 600, which is about the max you'd want to pay for it. But again, extremely accurate...

I want to buy my first PCP but most rifles around 500-600$ that shoot .177 are way too big. And only talon that look good, compact, no air leakage review. Only problem that the noise is level 5. Im broke so cant spend 100$ for talonSS and another few hundred buck for a silencer. TY!

The taipan veteran 2 in my experience, is a very capable pcp air gun. The first time I shot it, instantly regretted buying an fx maverick first.

Dan= I agree with you about just wasting off the first shot. It is still accurate enough for my small backyard. I just thought my tune was just off by a little & could be helped by a little more adjustment? I have regs in 14 of my PCP'S & have not had this issue before?

Welcome to AGN. Snoop around and do some reading. Then get real critical on what you are wanting the tool to do. Or be like me and buy a bunch of springers first that were ok and then dove into the rabbit hole of PCP! Good luck on your search. Way I see it, it's a win win situation no matter...

The best springers I have seen took a hell of a lot of work to get there and a hell of a lot more work to keep there than any PCP. And they do require a skill set that is not needed for shooting pcp rifles. Accuracy is relative, you could buy five of the same exact springers (or PCP) and one...

I have no pcp rifle, have never had a pcp or break barrel rifle that shot that badly at that short of a range. Well, other than early experiments in pellets. Amazing how bad some very cheap pellets can be. The Sortie Tact comes close, but it isnt really a rifle and has an 8" barrel. 25 yards...

Yes they are. I bought a refurbished one with an FX hand pump from Pyramid Air around 2002. That was my first pcp and it’s still holding air and very accurate.
