    N/A Decocking pcp!!!

I'm curious. Why would you store it cocked? To answer your question, yes, a coil spring will suffer fatigue if compressed for a long period of time. How important is it? Think about the valve springs in your car engine. They are under various states of compression all the time. When did you...

    sellers protection

For generations, hunters and shooters have felt a kinship. And this would refer to firearms, not air rifles. The airgun hobby is newer, and the high end precision market even newer, and it probably includes a lot of folks who are not historically "gun people", and thus there is not the same...

    sellers protection

That's exactly what I'm saying. I've never shipped a rifle I sold until the money was collected. Similarly, I've never received a purchased rifle until my check had been collected by the seller. It's a buyer's risk, never known it to work otherwise. It's a lot easier for the buyer to verify the...

    sellers protection

If its a personal check, don't ship until the check has been collected by your bank. Or, avoid the risk and require some form of official check.

    Cleaning solution for rifle barrels.

Silicone is a poor cleaning agent. Ballistol is good for mild cleaning and lubrication. WD-40 is good for cleaning also.

    A hypothetical question

My bad, I thought you were asking for advice rather than general conversation. Nothing wrong with that, but I'll probably shoot what I've got as long as I'm on top of the dirt, wouldn't buy a thing.

    A hypothetical question

My choice might be totally wrong for your needs or preferences. If you could disclose some of those, you might get meaningful answers.

Taipan My long term feelings of the vet 2

I understand your perspective, and your call is the right one for you. When I tune a rifle, I'm working with a combination of hammer spring tension and reg pressure. When I reach the most efficient combination, the reg setting is immaterial to me, it's simply where the tune puts it. Am I...

Taipan My long term feelings of the vet 2

The Vet 1 has always been a favorite of mine. I even prefer the rear lever, and yes, it has a great anti-double feed design. It seems that many folks seem to have a natural bias in favor of Huma regs, which I have never really understood. Two of my rifles, the Vet 1 and RAW have regs that, IMO...

    Wind, and groupings.

I think you will find that wind, as with most variables, does not have a linear relationship to your groups or scores. A heavier slug, shot from a well matched barrel, would probably be influenced less by that wind condition, but it might not be what you would expect. As always, shoot and see.

    Left handed safety

IMO, don't worry about it, and don't use the safety. After playing around with a good many air rifles, I can honestly say that I haven't found a safety that I trust. When hunting, or moving around, decock on an empty chamber. Most FX rifles, and others that use spring loaded mags present a...

Daystate wolverine R vs weihrauch HW100, which is more quiet?

I've tuned mine down to 11 fpe, and it's darn near silent.

Daystate wolverine R vs weihrauch HW100, which is more quiet?

I've owned both, and the HW100 is quieter. Plus, it's much more tunable than the Daystate, and a better trigger. If you get the laminated stock version, then you get an adjustable comb, which I find very desirable.

Is .25 cal at sub 12ft/lb effective at taking down pests

Assuming a constant of 12 fpe, I think the caliber makes no practical difference. Generally, I prefer a .177 at that power level, but again, at 15 yards it makes no difference, IMO.

RAW Rapid Deciding between a DonnyFL Koi and Sumo on my .25 RAW

I tried a Koi once and thought it was less effective than the Sumo so I exchanged it. My RAW is an older one with Martin's original in-house moderator (not the car muffler), and I believe it might be as good as the Sumo, although I had no way to compare them on the RAW barrel.

Squirrels need to go says my Wife

The game warden was right. The parasite looks nasty, but it doesn't invade below the skin. The meat is not affected. The remaining question, is good squirrel meat all that good? I grew up hunting and eating them, and my experience is that younger squirrels tend to be rather tender and tasty...

Squirrels need to go says my Wife

Squirrels are a game animal in my state too. And shooting an air rifle within the city limits is also prohibited in my town. So, maybe I'll get a quantity discount! But seriously, I think the practical considerations are much more important than any legal issues. If you keep the pellets on your...

Whats the one thing on your favorite gun you wish was on all guns.....

Two primarily: First, the metal-to-metal fit of the RAW pellet probe as mentioned by the OP. It's just basic machine work, like valves in an internal combustion engine. Secondly, magazines that do not use a spring advancement design. The Taipan Veteran and the HW 100 are two that I really llike.

N/A What do you advise? Brands.

Anything mechanical will break. Likewise, such a contraption needs routine maintenance. New owners who come from a firearm background may be disappointed in the maintenance that some air rifles require. Depending on your level of interest and competency in mechanical stuff, access to a reliable...

Which Airgun Dealer Has The Best Customer Service?

The question seems absolutely unambiguous to me. The poster is asking about service from "air gun dealers", and that seems clear. I have enjoyed quality customer service from Martin Rutterford (yes, that is the correct spelling) at Airguns USA, formerly Rapid Air Weapons. He remains the key...
