FX DRS Pro, 22, Shipped Today

Yeah, Canada is a bit of an airgun backwater. Limited brands, limited selection because of the "no moderator" and no bullpups rules. So companies have to have Canadian versions approved for sale and low sales (relative to the US) volumes frequently don't make this market attractive. Seems...

FX DRS Pro, 22, Shipped Today

It's going to be a loooong weekend LOL! Enjoy your new airgun! It will be at least another month (probably two) before the .22/600mm DRS Classic will be available in Canada so I don't have a lot of sympathy 😉 Cheers!

    New Gun

All of what the OP said! After the initial inspection, cleaning, pressure test and test shots to confirm proper functionality I'll note all the factory settings and shoot a baseline string of shots for later reference. I've usually done all kinds of research, downloaded drawings, parts lists...

    LabRadar

I use one of those telescopic "back scratchers" (available from Amazon for a couple of bucks) mounted in a wood base as a stand for the microphone. Takes a couple of minutes to make and seconds to adjust. Cheers!

    "No airguns allowed here"

Sometimes it can be lucrative (and appropriate) to educate people who have an attitude against airguns. Before they were closed to the public I would go to the sandpits the weekend before the deer hunting season to do some shooting with my PCPs and pick up brass for a friend who reloads. My...

    Pcp for coons, again.

I've lived in the suburbs and now in a rural area (for 6 decades) where raccoons regularly become a problem pest to be dealt with. If you HUNT raccoons, you can be sporting about it and use a gun, if you have to get rid of a pest then don't screw around, get a trap. A typical .22 caliber...

    Slavia 618

I still have and regularly shoot the 618 that I got in the 60's. My first "real gun". Great little plinker. Just be sure to regularly check that the stock screws are tight. Cheers!

Mediocre guns...we have all bought 1 or 2

Agreed, many airguns are designed for casual shooters who typically plink tin cans at under 20 yards. Think that most good modern PCPs (and a number of springers) are minute-of-a-pest (1 inch / 2 MOA) capable at 50 yards if the gun is properly set up and the shooter is consistent. MOA groups...

FX 1st time an issue of non return filling valve of FX guns on the pattern of Impact and Royal etc.

Thanks for posting, I'll check it out! Four FX and no issues (at all) but always good to know about fixes! Cheers!

Mediocre guns...we have all bought 1 or 2

I would add another option to the list of choices... 5) Accept the gun for what is and enjoy using it within it's limitations and capabilities. I think that "Mediocre" is relative to our expectations. With the information available these days, there's no reason not to have a good idea of...

Whats the one thing on your favorite gun you wish was on all guns.....

Replace all the flimsy plastic dial-a-problem mags with the simple no-moving-parts solid metal mag like on the HW100/HW110/HW44.

FX crown or daystate wolverine R

I have both the Crown MK2 and the Wolverine R in .22 caliber. I'd call them close to equal in most ways where it would personal preference that could swing the choice one way or the other. If I had to sell one of them, without hesitation, it would be the Wolverine that went - mainly because...

    What do you shoot

Mostly I plink at sub 50 yard ranges with .22 caliber 30ish fpe PCPs (Air Arms, Daystate, FX, Weihrauch) and a variety of springers (Air Arms, Feinwerkbau, Weihrauch). Pesting with different FX .22 caliber PCPs (power to suit the size of the pest) is a second activity. I'm just getting...

Air Arms TX200 MKIII Ultimate Springer

Those are nice stocks, have a similar one on my S510. My TX200 MK3 is a .177 in walnut. Beautiful springer, the fit and finish is incredible. A bit on the heavy side but accurate, calm and very pleasant to shoot. Cheers!

How Often do you shoot ALL your guns ? For those with many airguns

I have a lottery system to be sure that each airgun gets a day beside the door to the shooting range and some trigger time. Weather and other activities might interfere a bit but every gun gets shot at least once a month. My pesting rifles are always at the ready and see the most use...

    Would you like

As a kid I shot a .177 low velosity (~350 fps) break barrel pellet gun and considered it to be a close range (<10 yard) plinking rifle. Truthfully, my slngshot was a lot more powerful and better suited to hunting rabbits and squirrels. I had a couple of more powerful .177 caliber break...

Other Quiet, pcp, semi auto bday gift for my son?

Read your wish list, don't know your son's experience with airguns or his age. I usually recommend a good quality SINGLE SHOT for young/new shooters. Single shot for safety, single shot to slow down the shot cycle, to teach him to make the first shot count. Hard to beat a good quality...

Other "Sub MOA all day" Challenge

If you shoot enough you can always luck into an exceptional group. But like a golf hole-in-one it doesn't mean much unless you can repeat it at will. For pesting/hunting my maximum effective range is defined by the distance I can (consistently) 10 for 10 in a one inch circle (the kill zone of...

    FX Drs classic 700

Done a lot of casting (fishing stuff), figured thatcast slugs would have to be sized to be consistent. I'm making a slug die and swaging machine, I'll post some pictures if it turns out OK.
