HW/Weihrauch Installed an ARH Hornet kit in my HW85, and now it won't cock...?

I only mention it because there was a bit of a conundrum a while back when the new sintered looking "upgraded" cocking shoes came out. Originally there were two part numbers, one for the HW80 tube size and one for the HW95 tube sizes. And last time I went to order one, there was only one part...

HW/Weihrauch Installed an ARH Hornet kit in my HW85, and now it won't cock...?

While it's assembled, you can also remove the trigger pack and cock the gun, and kinda eyeball measure to see if the sear notch in the piston is coming back far enough. You can cock the trigger out of the gun, measure from the rear pin hole to the sear face that the piston rod pushes against...

HW/Weihrauch Installed an ARH Hornet kit in my HW85, and now it won't cock...?

First thing I would do: Put the gun together with everything but the spring, and make sure it cocks and the trigger releases. If it does, you are coil bound. If it still doesn't work, you may have trigger problems or something else going on. Did you install a new style cocking shoe? If so...

N/A What do you advise? Brands.

Perfect analogy, most racecars are finicky and need rebuilt regularly to stay running. I need my gun to work, and to be built well enough to hold up to being used. So I buy other brands.

Help me understand the reasoning with regards to high end springers

First, I'd love to know where you found a 25fpe Air Arms TX200 or a Weihrauch under lever. Most good spring guns were designed to shoot at a certain power level, but have been juiced up to appeal to the American market. However, tuning them to their optimal power level (usually slightly less...

N/A What do you advise? Brands.

Cyclone, Tarantula X2, FX2000..... Back when they still had real barrels and stocks and AoA was your only hope for support. Currently I have a Tarantula in .22 but hardly shoot it. Great gun for what it is. Worked on a couple Impacts and resealed a Wildcat. Have friends with them, and they...

    Pink Unicorn of scopes

Those used to be fairly popular for springers. I've had a couple myself. They are heavy as a brick, and kinda like looking through a toilet paper tube as far as FOV and brightness goes. But, they hold zero very well and are next to impossible to beat for the money. Especially since you could...

Iron sights on some PCPs would be a welcome option.

One of those brands has trouble holding POI just going from the safe to the bench lol!

Whats the one thing on your favorite gun you wish was on all guns.....

Agreed! The fact that people will spend $2000 + on an airgun and it come with this is mind boggling to me.

N/A What do you advise? Brands.

FX Airguns. They are overcomplicated, delicate, and grossly overpriced. Quality control is lacking and has been for several years. And the parts availability situation seems to always be up in the air. Wherever they go, a falling out seems to ensue sooner or later. For a guy new to airguns...

Tuning Who else enjoys breaking in their springers instead of tuning?

"However I’ve never shot a tuned air rifle so I can’t really cant compare" And that's the difference.

HW/Weihrauch Removing bolt on R9 receiver

I guess they could ask you: Why did you strip it? They use flat heads because they will hold a decent amount of torque, and they are easy to acquire tools to fit them. If you didn't remove the nut side first, or tried to remove the bolt with the gun uncocked and assembled, that's most of...

Whats the one thing on your favorite gun you wish was on all guns.....

Trigger from an HW100. Seriously, it's an incredible trigger and an actual REAL two stage. Magazine system (complete with anti-double-feed) from an HW100. Indexed by the gun, all metal one piece mags, can't double load and cheap. Sidelever that compresses the hammer spring on closing rather...

    What got you started?

I had airguns as a kid, like most all country kids did. I just never grew out of them. I had access to a .22LR from an early age, but I hunted a lot of places I wasn't supposed to, so the airgun proved to be ideal.
