Testing different ELR slugs at 200 yards for potential 700+ targets

Considering how a particular slug performs at various ranges, one might excel at 50 yards but lose accuracy beyond 75 yards, while another type could be effective at long range, exceeding 75 yards. Therefore, testing with your PCP is essential. A boat tail design is likely your best option, but...

Sampling slugs that are new to me.

I fired from 100 yards using 123gr HP as shown in the first picture, and from 120 meters with 145gr HP as seen in the second picture. As you can observe, the shots are very accurate and well-executed, grouped in threes.

Sampling slugs that are new to me.

Next week, I'll be testing Neal Tressler's slugs in a .308 caliber Texan. As soon as I opened the box, it was apparent that he had paid close attention to detail. I will provide some feedback after my tests next week.

    BOG death grip!!!

Laughing out loud, you seem like a spoiled brat, upset because your friends can afford high-end gear. For hunting, the most expensive equipment doesn't always guarantee the best value for money. Even if it were made of gold, I wouldn't pay $800 for a tripod. I have friends who use shooting...

    Tuning Is your pcp optimized?

I've been passionate about PCP air guns for four years now. There's still much to learn, especially regarding air pressure for optimal performance, considering the twist rate and barrel length for specific slugs or pellets. Previously, I filled my AEA Challenger Big 9 to 4500 psi, the...

N/A What's your favorite compact PCP?

I don't own one, but I've been monitoring the performance of the budget-friendly AEA Challenger Pro .22, which delivers 80 FPE. It competes well with PCPs that are much more expensive. I do own the Big 9, and for its price, there is no equal. Ultimately, it comes down to how much you're willing...

Other Big bore airgun valve dump???

When the pressure in your .45 caliber reaches a certain low point, which I'm not certain of, each subsequent shot reduces the pressure further. If you continue shooting, eventually the pressure will drop to a level where it can no longer keep the valve closed, resulting in a dump.

Other Big bore airgun valve dump???

When the pressure in the tank drops to a certain level, the valve remains open due to insufficient pressure to close it, resulting in a dump. The specific pressure at which this occurs may vary, and consulting someone with the same PCP model could provide clarity. However, it's important to note...

“Right” vs “Left” hand actions-why aren’t they swapped??

The only time it really became a literal pain for me was in the service, when hot brass from an M-16 slipped down between my neck and shirt, eventually getting trapped between my shirt and web gear. Not long after, I was handed a brass deflector, which was quite ironic, haha.
