    Evanix ar6k barrel

I just dug through all my barrels and liners. I have a .22 smooth twist that I shortened to 14.75”. I kept the choke on that one and it’s a good strictly pellet shooter. I have some .22 Superiors that were 600mm and I shortened them to 500mm by removing the chokes for slug testing. Could easily...

    Evanix ar6k barrel

You’re going to want the whole liner bonded to something for most of its length. Otherwise they are spaghetti noodles no matter how short you make it. In this picture you can see a very short liner from my DL compact. Serious spaghetti noodle. Had to eventually replace it with a real barrel. Not...

    Evanix ar6k barrel

Kudos to Evanix. Very nice. A machinist should have no problem duplicating that on a donor barrel. Your other idea using a FX liner? You might be building a harpoon gun unless you bond that liner into a tube then thread the tube.

Metal detector, generally about five feet beyond the corpse. If you have a good expanding slug or pellet, they are easier to find than ones that don’t. I’m not a paper puncher so slugs that don’t mushroom get ruled out no matter how good they shoot. Mainly for effectiveness and partly for safety.

RTI P1 Performance, it's 1:32 LR barrel - "light" slugs - anyone had any luck? ( and why do I hate MRD's? )

If you’re not putting all your slugs through the same hole at 30 yards, there’s no hope of them tightening up at 100. Things only grow as the distance increases in any projectile land. Oh, and to not be misleading, my .30 RTI is not using a barrel from a RTI.

FX FX DRS with low velocity first shot! What should I check?

My reg must not creep one bit. After 24 hours and more hammer strike than needed, I don’t get a fast first shot. With no intentions of ever playing with the reg, hopefully it will remain solid. I personally don’t sweat some reg creep, as long as it doesn’t show up drastically on the chronograph...

RTI P1 Performance, it's 1:32 LR barrel - "light" slugs - anyone had any luck? ( and why do I hate MRD's? )

That’s funny because I have two M3’s I won’t play with. The third M3 has been a barrel test pilot. It was the gun I used to test theories because I could always return it to its very good pellet gun status. Well now that gun and its current configuration is so awesome that I won’t touch it...

    Better wood on air rifles

I hope I’m not the only one that became woozy and slightly disoriented when I saw your gun. Good grief!

    Head shot thread

This tread has jinxed my vital shooting. Took a zipmunk today at right around 80 yards with some wind. I hit about an inch left of where I was aiming and unfortunately had another topic candidate.

    Sad day for me...

A minor wildlife infraction is more times than not a learning experience. Major premeditated game infractions are a different matter. A mistake or oversight is nothing to lose sleep over but it is ok to be a little embarrassed. You owned it so I don’t think anyone will lose any respect for you...

RTI P1 Performance, it's 1:32 LR barrel - "light" slugs - anyone had any luck? ( and why do I hate MRD's? )

If it was your .177 slugger, then it should return to that duty. You don’t need two flyweight .22 sluggers. Having a good .177 and .22 slug shooter would have to be wonderful. I wasn’t aware that a factory RTI .177 barrel could shoot slugs that great. I plan to venture to .177 slug land some...

FX FX DRS with low velocity first shot! What should I check?

Let us know tomorrow after the gun sits for 24 hours. It sounds to me like your stock hammer wasn’t enough for 130b. Or you never found your plateau speed to begin with and were dilly dallying around too far below it. If you can shave a little weight off that hammer it might give you a nicer...

FX FX DRS with low velocity first shot! What should I check?

Back again for an update. First shot after almost 24 hours, 873, 881, 877, 881fps. This is with the hammer set 1/4 turn above the regs plateau speed. And with a 500mm .22 barrel with a reg setting of 110 ish. I will leave it set there and check my shot string when I’m approaching refill time. If...

American Air Arms Evol Mini 22

After owning the Evol, I’ve had to talk myself down off the Paradigm ledge several times. I hope you get one some day.

American Air Arms Evol Mini 22

And your two quotes of what L.Leon said is exactly why I bought one. I knew when AAA caved in to the guys who just can’t leave their guns alone and made the gun adjustable for a nitwit, even I would constantly be searching for greener grass with the gun. The gun would lose its powder burner...

American Air Arms Evol Mini 22

I have one. Just think of the gun as a Custom Shop S&W .357 pistol. Guys that buy that pistol aren’t going to try to do anything else with it. No trinket is going to magically show up in the market that is a “must have” for an Evol. Are you gonna feel you suddenly need some poedunk barrel...

FX M3 Consistency After a time stored .. From an FX Hater ( Not )

You may not claim to be a pro but if you can shoot 18gr pellets like that in a TRUE 10+mph wind, you might be a level above a pro.

FX FX DRS with low velocity first shot! What should I check?

Ok, hammer at 1/8 turn above plateau setting. First shot was only 10 ish FPS slow. Second shot spot on. Moved HS adjuster from 1/8 to 1/4 above plateau. Regardless, I can live with this at 1/8 but I have to fly a little closer to the sun. See you guys tomorrow.
