I'm a big fan of tuning things down but my critters aren't that big and don't require a ton of pop. Favorite is my .22 Veteran short @ 24 FPE. Maybe some people have larger critters :unsure:

32FPE for rats? Have you experimented with lower powered tunes? Been running one of my .22 shorties at 24FPE for a few years now and I love it :love: 14.35 JSB@870fps. Plenty of power for tree rats + much quieter + lots more shots/fill (70) + super gentle shot cycle.

If I really needed to quiet my target trap down I would experiment with making it deeper/longer. Sort of like a shroud. Maybe use plexiglass so that light can get to the target. Make it removable to switch targets. Slip in on the front of your target box when you need quiet. Take if off when...
