Taipan Taipan Veteran II Tactical aka Ugly Fat Pig

Since we're showing off pigs, here's mine. .22 caliber with a Hawke Frontier 34 FFP 5-30 x 56. It likes a wide range of pellets but is a bit pickier on slugs. At the current tune, I can't put 18g or lower weight ammo in as they are going at over 1085 fps! 25.4g FX/JSB average 944fps. And it...

Taipan Taipan Veteran II Tactical aka Ugly Fat Pig

I stuck an extra Uragan one in that I have in it. Doesn't go all the way through but protects one side... I think a talented 3D printer person could make some!

Airgun Technologies How is the vulcan tatical?

I'm shooting AVS 61g out of my .30 and am getting good grouping at 100 yards. I want better, so I'm sending it to @zx10wall for some tuning. It's getting 109fpe right now! For using in the field with a tripod, I can't think of much better to take down feral hogs and coyotes! Walking around...

Taipan Taipan Veteran II Tactical aka Ugly Fat Pig

Just to attest to the Vet 2 tactical, here is my 100 yard target from yesterday at the range. I was using JSB KOs .218 25.39g at an average of 940fps (49.8 fpe). I had the front on a bipod but was just holding the back - to practice more of my hunting style. The gun clearly is better than me...

Taipan Taipan Veteran II Tactical aka Ugly Fat Pig

I took my Vet 2 Tactical 700mm out yesterday to the range. At a 250bar fill, I get 60 shots before it drops to 180bar (I'm guessing at the pressure drop off - haven't really chrony'd it yet to know). I shot both pellets and slugs with no distinction between which grouped better at 25, 50, 100...

    Arken Non-LRF Zulus

I went to the range today to shoot. Nice day under 90 degrees! I have the Arken Zulus 5x20 Non-LRF on my Uragan .25 (tuned by @zx10wall). It has been tuned for JSB 33.95 MKIIs and that is what I am shooting. I zeroed the gun at 30 yards first. These photos are at 50 yards with a hold over...

    Zulus range finder

I have them both (posted in another thread). With the non-LRF you make profiles at various distances that you shoot and then use hold over/under for the in between ranges. Works very well. Between the 2, I prefer the LRF as it takes any guess work out of it but I have been just as effective...

What did you order / receive airgun related today? Thread

Pellets, slugs and o-rings. Can’t have too many of any of these!

    Zulus LRF vs non

@Dairyboy - I think you will find that the scope does well out to 100 yards and the video for both day and night are very good. I thought I would be using mine more for night work but have found I really have started to like it for day shooting also. The video recording to me is just a bonus...

    Brocock/BRK Ghosted by a Ghost XR Carbine…🤓👻🙈💥

@L.Leon - Now move the Arken Zulus over and have even more fun! Then you can record some day and night shooting for the crowds.

    Zulus LRF vs non

@Dairyboy - It gets better if you want to swap out ammo/tunes with the same gun. All you do is add each profile and select it prior to shooting! I do that on a .177 that I have tuned to do 13gr and 16gr pellets - works like a charm. The BC/LRF does it's job properly. I don't swap the whole...

Huben My Experience buying a Huben K1 from Kraz Cool, and first shooting impressions.

@Emu - I get 40 shots on my .25 with 310 bar with 33.95g JSBs. My compressors don't go any higher, but I did pump it up with my Huben hand pump (took me forever) and got about 60. I have rarely had to reload in the field due to not ever getting that may game targets to shoot at! @goldmaniam...

How Often do you shoot ALL your guns ? For those with many airguns

I haul at least 6 out to the range each time I go. I take the air tank in case I need to refill, but with that many guns and stopping to talk with others, I'm there for hours and rarely ever fill up with the tank.! I'm fortunate in that not a lot of folks are at the range so I can dump them...

    Zulus LRF vs non

I have both! The LRF is just so much easier to use for night ranging versus changing a profile to zero the reticle at the profile distance. But I use hold-overs on the non-LRF and it works just fine! I like the both! If someone said you can only have one - and I had the money - it would be...

Airgun Technologies Are all problems with me !! Vulcan 3 .22

I have had the same problem with my Vulcan 3 .30. I bought a CARM single shot magazine that solves the problem for bench shooting but not hunting. I do the same as they said - keep it level when cycling - it sucks but does work. Maybe the guru - Mr. Wall - has a solution!

Finally got a night vision scope!

I have all of the above. And I use all of the above! I have both NV007 with LRF with Eaglevision mounts which make it real easy to swap out scopes/guns. I have an NV008S-LRF as well as an Arken 5x20 LRF. I use them both. I like them all. The Arken is definitely clearer than the PARDS, but...

Taipan Taipan Veteran II Tactical aka Ugly Fat Pig

Well I have one in .22 with the green 2-piece stock and the 700mm barrel and it is damn accurate. It does very well with the 23.95g JSB Jumbo Monster RDs and it loves the 23.95g KO .218s. And the trigger is fantastic with the only one better (IMHO) is my Red Wolf. And it's on sale at talontunes!

N/A Choked vs unchoked barrel with pellets and slugs

I have a Krait L in .25 that has the CZ barrel and I shoot both pellets - JSB 25.39 and 33.95, the JTS pellets are terrible with my barrel - and Zan 26.5g slugs. Both group well out to 100 yards. The slugs of course do better after 100 yards. The 25.39 I have going at 917fps average and the...

    Other Aussie Airgun

I think a 600 or 700 barrel length is good as you will probably have longer range shots "down under" then a lot of us in the states for your pests. I do have a couple of guns that I take when pesting to meet the need. But if you are to start out with one and do this for a living you definitely...
