    HW/Weihrauch HW underlever cleaning

I used a tapered brass rod and clean muzzle to breach.

    HW/Weihrauch HW underlever cleaning

A shim block of some kind is likely the only way. I just clean my closed action and then open it to fire off a few fouling pellets.

Whats the one thing on your favorite gun you wish was on all guns.....

It’s not a factory job, but my favorite feature is sight radius. We need PCPs with changeable iron sights!

HW/Weihrauch Matching caliber to rifle, Weihrauch style...

I only have 2 rifles, a D48 in .177 and a HW77 in .22. I really regret getting the D48 in .177. The power plant is so stout that the .177 just makes it into a very unpleasant shooting experience. The HW on the other hand feels like a tuned gun right out of the box and I am pretty sure it’s...

HW/Weihrauch Spring piston guns, shooting tehcniques

Bottom group is 2.5 moa, and that is quite typical of what I can achieve with my HW77 and JSBs. I’ve found this one likes a normal, firm hold. If you relax shoulder pressure the groups will string vertically. Top group is the first sub 2 MOA group, and I am more than pleased with that using...

N/A Lubrication of the compression chamber without dieseling in the spring gun, yes of course.

No way. The finish in the chamber is too rough for the seal to remove all lubricant. There will be micro dry spots and pockets of lube in the surface. I am far from an expert on springer tuning, but I just use a bit of moly grease and accept the fact that the gun will diesel for a dozen plus...

HW/Weihrauch Spring piston guns, shooting tehcniques

I found hold makes little to no difference on my HW77 and Diana 48. Just be repeatable and comfortable. I hold them tight to the shoulder, like a centerfire rifle, because I use them to practice for… drum roll… centerfire rifles. My accuracy is excellent with the HW77. The Diana is another...

What springer did you shoot today?

Just wait til you put some JSB heavies through it, you won’t mind anymore haha Post pics!

What springer did you shoot today?

Tested out the HW77 at 20 meters today. Supported sitting, but definitely not equivalent to bags or a sled. Just a table, mat, and my hand. It’s very consistent group to group. Zeroed in the windage between each group, hence POI change. Interesting that the elevation changed, lighting was...

What springer did you shoot today?

Took the HW77 out today. Had a good hit rate on the 1 1/8” squirrel popper at 30m. Approximately 60% whilst standing. Then a black bird presented itself, and I couldn’t resist. First blood! This HW77 is no longer a virgin. Here’s to many more pests to come.

What springer did you shoot today?

What do we consider to be a good group from a standing position? This from the other day with my HW77 at 20m.

WE need collective data - Test to help us all learn something

What pistol did you shoot today

A few years ago I was coyote hunting our farm fields. My mother asked me to kill any possums I came across cause they spread some disease to the horses, apparently. So naturally one loafed along and I remember her request, and sent the possum to the next life. Upon inspecting the carcass, I...

WE need collective data - Test to help us all learn something

Shot with my PRod, .22 JSB RS at 25 yards standing. Interesting results. This combo is capable of 2.5 MOA on a bench. Groups go 12x -> 8x -> 4x

Monthly test for POI shift and consistency(in mild wind)

I like to post these whenever someone mentions random POI shifts. All from the Hornady Podcast, talking about sample size of groups, and the effects of dispersion in small sample sizes.

What pistol did you shoot today

Decided to give my HW77 a break and take out the P-Rod. Squirrels better watch out if they get within 30m! This thing is so small and handy. Honestly, too light for my liking. I’ve been looking into adding weight somehow. Maybe a longer barrel, shroud, and reservoir. Maybe a reg? Definitely...

Could maybe shim that scope with a bit of aluminum foil in the ring.
