Anyone else out there have a trusty dog by their side for hunting?

My daschund likes doing the hunting and killing himself. My aussie shepherd is happy to locate the quarry and point it out to me. But she doesn't like the sound of the airgun, so once I bring it out, she goes inside to avoid hearing the crack.

    Cancer in the airgun world

IMO this forum and the airgun world is remarkably indifferent to these "cancer people". It's probably because the community is largely made up of older people who have all "done that, seen worse" etc. A thing I've been noticing in more on-line forums is AI bots spamming places with bad...

    Sprained my wallet

Currently I'm on Vancouver Island, Canada. But I've been offered a nice job in Ukraine -- teaching kids to make new types of killer drones! Negotiating the conditions now. Non-citizens are not allowed to possess guns, so I'm trying to negotiate citizenship or get an exception to the law...

    Sprained my wallet

I've got four air-tight sealed oil drums full of pellets and slugs. They're not easy to open. I don't know how to move them without emptying them. I'd have to shoot an awful lot to finish just one of them. I'm now collecting powderburning ammunition. I made my first ammunition safe...

    Sprained my wallet

I occasionally shoot to site-in an aiming device. But the majority of my shots are "in anger" eliminating pests on my property. Right now there's not many pests, so shots are relatively infrequent. The price of success is low ammunition costs, I suppose.

    Sprained my wallet

I bought my supply of pellets 5 years ago. Likely it'll last me the rest of my life. Prices? What prices?

Sfp vs ffp which one do you use?

I selected FFP but technically I use DFP, Dual Focal Plane reticle. My only zoomable scope is a March. Everything else is fixed magnification.

    Canadian Laws Governing Air Guns

What kind of pellets are you using? There are ultra-light plastic pellets that'll go crazy fast in a sub-500fps airgun. Usually the fps rating is set with one of the lighter all-lead pellets, but not the ultra-light pellets made out of exotic materials.

    Canadian Laws Governing Air Guns

While it's true you can't count on their word in terms of the legality of something, the RCMP are usually the first point of contact when it comes to interpreting firearms law. Their "Canadian Firearms Program" is designed as a point of contact to help get expert advice to Canadians about what...

    Canadian Laws Governing Air Guns

For the most part, the way the law is interpreted in the courts does not allow for any of this weazel-ing around the letter of the law. Similarly, if you modify a firearm that's legal into one that breaks the law, you are in violation. Or if you modify an illegal to own firearm into one that...

    N/A Cost estimate per shot

Most of my Crosman's are 500 per tin.

    N/A Cost estimate per shot

For cost per shot PCP users rarely take into account how much their pumps cost and how many pellets they've fired with air from that compressor. Cost of o-rings, replacement parts, etc. This can often bump up the numbers substantially.

    EDgun Leshiy 2 dilemma.

Well, a lot of people have at least a bit of regulator creep on these guns. I find if I store the gun at high pressures the first shot after a few weeks of sitting around is a bit hot.

    EDgun Leshiy 2 dilemma.

I don't have an answer to your question, but from reading the forum it looks like most people have no problem with it. But for those that do, it's been a bit of a dilemma to sort out it out. Likely it's the first few through the breech that have most of the problems, as diagnosing those...

Costly mistake in buying a pcp rifle

If it's only an o-ring issue, I agree with the other posters. Find out what kind of o-ring is required, order a few of them and replace yourself. o-rings are generally cheap and easy to replace by the end user. Generally speaking they seem to fail more quickly if 1) you overtighten the...

    Shake awake scopes

I think I've only once left a scope on for the battery to drain. The more electronic gizmos you use, the more likely it is you'll have to deal with an exotic failure of some kind. These motion sensors are like what they use in video game consoles these days, and if you've played enough video...

    Other Why so expensive?

Much of the price comes down to airguns being a niche market. If there was serious mass production, prices would be considerably lower. As is, you're paying a more significant percentage of the engineering and machining costs with most airguns.

Hungary or former YU states - what are the airgun laws?

I appear to have been offered a job in Ukraine. Pretty sure you can shoot pests in your yard there. Even open carry.
