I've done it with the Zulus and it has the resolution to work well. None of the Pards I've owned have had the resolution at any distance for range work and targets look too grainy.

So, you don't like airguns made form stamped sheet metal. I owned a .45 of theirs for a while and it was hard to get over how cheap some of the parts felt to me.

Red Wolf Standard in 177 was my first thought as well. Running at low power your shot count is up near 4-500 shots easily. Length on the standard is 38". Amazing rifle that will shoot pellets and slugs well.

Downsides = more pellets and more air, just plowing through mags of pellets gets boring after a while. Upsides = it's a lot of fun and there are excellent semi's out there. Huben K1 is one.
