HW/Weihrauch Matching caliber to rifle, Weihrauch style...

Big holes are certinaly better for hunting when put in the same spot. The trick is getting them in the right spot. Slower calibers are harder to land accurately. Is a smaller caliber in the right spot better than a bigger caliber that's not? It's an argument that will go on forever. Look up 243...

Im not really impressed given the size of the projectiles. Here's my back deck furthest plate is 10" at 625 yards. You're welcome to shoot here. If you think you can do it..

How do we shut this off? Yes I know you have an app. I chose not to download it the first dozen times you clogged my screen with it's advertisement. Enough.

HW/Weihrauch Removing bolt on R9 receiver

The right side is a lock nut. It has to be removed first. The left side bolt threads into the right side fork. As for tools, you need large hollow ground slotted screw drivers and or bits. When reassembling get close to the tension you want with the left side bolt. Then tighten the right side...

Tuning Who else enjoys breaking in their springers instead of tuning?

There's no benefit in not tuning a gun. The only downside to shooting a well tuned gun is you wont be able to enjoy shooting an untuned gun. When tuned properly and matched with the right pellet a tuned gun is smoother and easier to shoot accurately. It's not actually more accurate, its just...

HW/Weihrauch Matching caliber to rifle, Weihrauch style...

If you're gonna get a 98 for accuracy (which is its only purpose as far as I'm concerned) go with the 177. I have one in 20 and it's a nice gun but I really only have a choice of two maybe three pellets for it. My plain Jane Hw95 in 177 out shoots it all the way to 50 yards. And don't get me...

HW/Weihrauch Matching caliber to rifle, Weihrauch style...

With my shooting environment, range estimation skills and too many guns to know all their hold overs, I need 700fps. At the very least 650fps. That's with standard weight lead pellets. That means I'm adjusting the caliber to the gun. Some guns will do multiple calibers well. The Hw95 family...

Tuning Who else enjoys breaking in their springers instead of tuning?

I had to pick the second choice. I eventually tune them but its usually very shortly after I get them. Certainly not immediately. I check for warrantyable issues like accuracy and cosmetic flaws. After that I open them up and check inside for more possible problems. If the gun passes all that...

HW/Weihrauch Spring piston guns, shooting tehcniques

This is an excellent post. It perfectly represents what I've experienced with springers. I think consistent 1MOA groups from a springer are tall order. One MOA is 0.25"@25yds-0.5"@50yds-0.75"@75yds, 1"@100yds etc.etc... As with all shooting external influences grow exponentially with inceasing...

HW/Weihrauch Spring piston guns, shooting tehcniques

At what distance are you zapping spent 22lr cases? You have a truly remarkable springer if it can out shoot all pcps. I agree about the right pellet can change everything. Accuracy and power can both tied into the efficiency of the piston stroke. Pellet weight and fit changes the start pressure...

HW/Weihrauch Spring piston guns, shooting tehcniques

I have 4 Hw95 family guns in three calibers. My 177 95 is my most accurate of them at 50 yards. It floats between 14.5 and 15 fpe. I don't hold it tight or terribly loose either. I make sure my hands are in the same position everytime. I've tried tight and loose holds and neither worked for me...

    HW/Weihrauch Breech Seal Vendors (HW35)

Make sure you get the white Weihrauch OE. They have the right thickness and durometer. Most of the aftermarket like the blue Air Venturi and the black Vortek will cause barrel droop and poor lock up. The green one ARH are good but won't last as long as the OE ones. Also don't order any...

I've also test a handfull of 177 pellets and found some close to published numbers and some not. Bottom line the only way to know for sure is to test them through your gun.
