    HW/Weihrauch Leaving springers cocked.

"Inevitable" it's a good way to put it. We're only human and it's easy to forget something not dangerous like that. Forgetting the 20 ga is loaded is a lot less likely to happen due to the consequences.

Tuning .177 Beeman R9 Blue Laminate Limited Edition - tune and repower project

I have the sister rifle in 20 cal. They're very nice. I refinished my stock because mine had the same cloudy blush around the wrist as other one. It was a project and half.

N/A I forgot how deadly the Walther LGU could be

    Very nice gun. Excellent shooting!

    HW/Weihrauch Leaving springers cocked.

I was leaving the air rifles cocked and loaded because we get small pests too close to the house for powder guns. The powder guns are for bigger pests. Now I won't leave a spring gun cocked for more than the length of a hunt. I use my 50 for squirrels.

    HW/Weihrauch Leaving springers cocked.

Yes I know seals don't go bad from being left cocked. The seal on the Hw30 probably degraded over time and I hadn't noticed it. I hadn't chrono'd it in a while. When it chrono'd low after finding it left cocked I thought it might be the spring. I have had Hw30 springs go bad before from being...

    HW/Weihrauch Leaving springers cocked.

Please don't be offended. I'm not suggesting I'm more intelligent or you're stupid. If you read the other thread as I suggested you might understand my position. I'm not interested in entertaining the same argument again. I keep lots of loaded weapons around the house and I have my reasons...

    HW/Weihrauch Leaving springers cocked.

I was a high end car mechanic for 20 plus years, a railroad diesel machinest for 15 years. I've built small and big block Chrysler drag motors that seen 10000 and 8500 rpm respectively without fail. I'm well versed in both automotive and train suspension and engine coil springs. Coil springs...

    HW/Weihrauch Leaving springers cocked.

Yes of course. Safety was on if it makes you feel safer. I'm not interested in entertaining the same stupid arguments from my left my Hw30 cocked thread. If you're so incline look it up and let it go.

    HW/Weihrauch Leaving springers cocked.

Here's the good the bad and ugly. Always the whole page. Ten shot groups at 33+ on 1 through 5. Five shots at groups 6 and 7 and I blew it on 8 & 9 so I shot ten on those. The orange stickers are 1" Oy well.

That's very solid velocities so you remember what kit is in there? ARH changes them around regularly. Thanks

    HW/Weihrauch Leaving springers cocked.

I left a Vortek kitted Hw30 cocked for a few days. Later when the velocity tested low I replaced the spring assuming it was wasted. After all the seal appeared perfect and held pressure anywhere in the stroke.. The velocity was still sub par (par=8fpe). Seal tested good, new spring and still low...

    HW/Weihrauch HW 95 Walnut - Free Upgrade

Wow those are some beautiful walnut 95s. The 20 cal in the OP is probably my dream rifle. I love the 95 platform. Especially in 20 cal. I've got a R9 and 98 in 20 cal. Both are great to shoot. I have a 95 in 177 and 22. They're the only air rifle I have in more than one caliber...

HW/Weihrauch I just wanted to post this purely out of my insatiable need for attention.

Beautiful. That's an early model 85. I'm sure you know or it's been noted already. It's the same as an R10. It's an unique rifle. The new 85s are just a long barreled 95s. Still great rifles.

650 yards, 5 minutes of fun, NAC 2024

Difficult to see? More like almost impossible. The ground is like a bullet sponge. Shooting in front of a sand berm is an awesome advantage in making adjustments. My setup is almost shooting blind. There's a lot of guess work and wasted ammo when missing the plates. I'll look at the videos...

HW/Weihrauch Matching caliber to rifle, Weihrauch style...

You're right on all accounts. Except negating the fire arm ballistics comparison. Ballistics is always important. Otherwise you only riterated what I wrote. For the record, Most people don't get 800-900fps out of springers with mid weight 22 caliber lead pellets. Guns that have the power to...

What springer did you shoot today?

I shot my stalwarts. My scoped Hw30 and 50. Both in 177. No fantastic groups just checking zero at 33 yards.

    Tuning ARH black tar ?

The less grease, the better. Very very little is needed when built right. Tar is also known as open gear lube. It's used on diesel train traction motor gears that I worked on. It's also widely used in other industrial and agricultural equipment. It's nasty stuff and it'll ruin any clothes you...

    polishing ?

No. Polishing is done to smooth manufactured rough peices. Once polished no need to be done again.

HW/Weihrauch Matching caliber to rifle, Weihrauch style...

Big holes are certinaly better for hunting when put in the same spot. The trick is getting them in the right spot. Slower calibers are harder to land accurately. Is a smaller caliber in the right spot better than a bigger caliber that's not? It's an argument that will go on forever. Look up 243...
