    30-Yard Challenge

Took today off - rode motorcycle as it was really windy here. Still pretty windy at 6:30 for target shooting, so I moved in to 30 yards with Crown and shot two 30-Masters cards. I’m happy with the scores - especially with the conditions - but I missed a few wind reads and it cost me a Greg type...

    30 yd challenge

The scoring rules are on Page 1 of the thread… Basically, we use a .22 scoring plug. If the plug touches the edge of a ring, say the 9-ring, then that shot scores a 9. We use the .22 scoring plug regardless if shooting .177 or .22. Here is the plug used by many...

    30-Yard Challenge

Nice ! A Pro Sport springer off bags and the 510XS off Caldwell - I’ve used pretty much those exact setups with good results. My springer is a HW97k in .177. Do you lock down the Caldwell side to side adjustment or leave it pretty free to move?

    30-Yard Challenge

Well RCope, its the shooter first, but it doesn’t hurt to have a rifle that shoots many pellets well… … that’s one of the best cards we have ever seen with the .177 “beast” pellets - nice velocity too. Share a picture of your Air Arms and the rest you are using - it seems a great setup. -Ed

    30-Yard Challenge

Good shooting Rick! If you check our leaderboards, you will notice that most shooters are getting best results with your 13.4g pellet at 800-840fps - with 820 seeming about ideal.

    30-Yard Challenge

You guys are shooting up a storm!! Greg - absolutely amazing 40-Yard card with .177. I shot these two cards just now - Dreamline Classic .177 with modest Arken scope. I am hung over from too much bourbon yesterday. First card was better than I expected so I pushed out to 40 yards for 2nd card...

Whats the one thing on your favorite gun you wish was on all guns.....

Scope rail like on my Reximex Daystar that accepts both Picatinny and dovetail rings. External hammer spring and regulator adjustments - with no stock removal required. Wide breech opening for single shot loading as previously mentioned. Magazines like Taipan and Weihrauch that DON’T use...

    New guy question

How about a classic German spring piston rifle for shooting sparrows - something like this: https://www.krale.shop/us/weihrauch-hw30-s-synthetic/

    30-Yard Challenge

Congratulations on the 200 Masters Greg, I’ve never shot one… choked and shot a 9 on the last target for a 199 a couple times… Damn, now my 200 13X 30-Challenge card with the Crown a couple months ago looks weak by comparison to your 30-Masters. I’ve been working on 40-Masters with Crown -...

    What got you started?

Bought a house with a great backyard for shooting - air rifles, not powder burners. My Dad belonged to two local gun clubs and had a property with a house that he rented to a gun club buddy - he had a shooting range on that property as well. So we shot powder burners but not air rifles. Before...

    Tuning unchoked cal.22 ammo questions

I recently purchased a .22 Taipan Veteran 2 with 550mm CZ unchoked barrel from a AGN member. He had the rifle tuned for 25.39 and the new 28g JSBs. I left the reg at 150bar, backed off the hammer spring and shot this target with FX (JSB) 18.13g - the 1st 30-Challenge card I shot with the...

    30-Yard Challenge

Thanks Guys, it was a fun day shooting and the Crown 40-Masters card was a nice end to the day. Thought some of you might be interested in my data on my Crown. Below you will find every 40 yard card I’ve shot - including some notes. To date, the Crown has been the best 40 yard rifle I’ve...

    Thoughts on .30 pellets?

Practicing at 100 yard benchrest targets, my RTI Prophet shot about the same scoring level with the 44 and 50 grain JSBs (FX branded JSBs) My friend Joe finished 3rd in Sportsman benchrest at NAC - using AEA 50.5g with his FX Impact M3. Joe had always used JSB/FX pellets, but shortly before...

    30-Yard Challenge

Great shooting with your RTI Sharp Pog. What regulator pressure do you use? I shot three 30-Challenge cards with my unregulated Reximex Daystar yesterday: 195 13X 195 11X 197 12X I submit the 197 card for our Leaderboard. I battled a shifting wind on all 3 cards. The second 195 card definitely...

    30-Yard Challenge

Awesome string of mid-190s cards with that HW Tommy. All the more impressive when I see that you are using a 16x scope to shoot those cards!

    30-Yard Challenge

Great card! I always loved the look of Air Arms S510, but have not owned Air Arms for some reason. Can you test 845-855 and 885-895 fps by adjusting hs preload? I will check my data, but I believe my experience is similar with .177 10.x grain pellets - that above 900 fps, accuracy starts to...

    30-Yard Challenge

My Crown Mk2 is amazing at 40 yards - so consistent in the vertical. Not my favorite by far, but it’s accurate. For FX I much prefer my Dreamlines - much smoother. The two Prophets are my usual favorites. I’ve got .177, .22 LR, .25LR and .30 barrels. I recently had the .22 tuned where it was...
