    Vintage Scope - Bushnell 1.5-4X20

The banner series was a lower priced Bushnell (they were still quite decent and, in that era, one of the better scopes for the price) and they came with BDC cams that would allow for (more or less) trajectory adjustments by dialing range. I have one of those in the "scopechief" series on my...

Theoben Testing a seal adaptor for SLR 88 and the likes.

That design is one of those: "now why didn't I...." very nice!

    HW/Weihrauch HW 80 build .22 long rifle.

That is a very elegant, smoothly flowing design. So many AG have tree trunk wrists that pretty well destroy the looks. Your design is to my eye, flawless. I look forward to seeing what checkering pattern you use.

Where have all the QYS 9.56 domed pellets gone?

I finally got fed up with this situation and now get all QYS from nordicmarksman.com Shipping in quantity is not too terrible and coming from Canada, has been reasonably quick. They have been very reliable vendors and stock lots of stuff for precision shooting that can be hard to find elsewhere.

46M Keep or pass along ?

I have had and used a 46m for a long time. Even with more expensive pistols it still brings joy. I think they last very well, and I doubt that you will need a second complete gun. While parts will likely not be readily available in US the international supply seems to be good. I would sell. The...

Sheridan Are Sheridan air rifles that much better than Benjamin?

My, possibly faulty, recollection is that when Benj first acquired Sheridan they built a new factory and made an effort to retain any Sheirdan employees willing to drive across the river to the new plant. The early Benj production was in my examples fully equal to older Sheridan and superior to...

Sheridan Are Sheridan air rifles that much better than Benjamin?

I have several of both and my impression was that early on, Benjamin did not make changes but actually updated the fabrication methods such that the last "Sheridans" were more problematic than the early Benj remakes. I believe that the infusion of cash from the early takeover by Benjamin allowed...

    HW/Weihrauch Bad barrel run around

Sorry for late reply. I have a flock of HW and do not recall ever having a tight breech. I was lapping a hatsan. 800 garnet compound has worked well for me.

    HW/Weihrauch Bad barrel run around

I have successfully lapped with 800. It was adequate but have never used anything coarser.

    Ticks! Out in the field.

I have a rural property in tick central USA. I treat everything from socks to pants with Sawyer Permethrin and can heartily recommend it. I do not and never have worked for Sawyer. My medical issues make lyme an existential threat. A billion years ago, as an entry level scientist, I worked on...

    Shake awake scopes

One aspect is that a "truck gun" is going to see vibration while you drive.

    Daystate AOA Plinker Package

I bought (3/23) the We the P etc package for the Daystate revere regulated .177. The scope back then was an Athlon Argos 2-12X42 HMR. I did not want a hubble on the Revere and had no need for more mag. As such, it was a good value, and that scope works very well in this package. The mod is...

I cant unscrew the cylinder from my FEB P44 at high pressures(NEW)

I've used the grease in tiny spots on the leading edge of the threads for the first couple of installations and much less often after that. It isn't needed every time. I have some bottle guns (BSA super ten) and the continuous changing of bottles is easier after a couple of applications to the...

I cant unscrew the cylinder from my FEB P44 at high pressures(NEW)

Good for you. He should be able to easily remove the cylinder regardless of its fill pressure. Wore out the tee shirt and still going; P700, P8X and walther lp500 no issues 3ksi or 2ksi

    HW/Weihrauch Refinishing beech stocks...

OH WOW! as it happens, I have one just like that mud dweller. Thanks for the instructions! That is remarkable. It beggars belief that someone would cover that wood up.

I cant unscrew the cylinder from my FEB P44 at high pressures(NEW)

I have to agree about not using silicone on metal to metal. I have no idea what the FWB grease is, but it works very well and only a tiny amount is needed. Over here its $12 for a tube but it is a lifetime supply. Silicone is OK for o rings. A grease is usually an oil carried by a thickener...

I cant unscrew the cylinder from my FEB P44 at high pressures(NEW)

Uhh Oh! I cannot imagine why fwb would change the fitting of the cylinders. There are many p44 on the firing lines and changing cylinder fitment is just stupid. I never thought that this could be an issue! As far as I know the difference in the 44 AND 8x is mostly cosmetic.

    Flip up Scope covers

I've had the same difficulty with the Monstrum (especially the eyepiece) covers. The ones that did not move around in handling split on me. I like their design but will now try the aliexpress versions. Thanks for this thread.
