What would be the best projectile

This thread is one of the best 'new guy ammo threads" I have seen. Very good advice. The only addition I can make is to emphasize that the super light (alloy) pellets are usually a bad idea in the more powerful springers like yours. Cleaning before shooting is also to be emphasized. Every...

Air Arms Mk1 or mk2 stock refinish!!

What did you use to strip the original finish? I just discovered that the "Nanny State" seems to have banned the finish strippers that I used to rely on. thanks

    Adding dessicant to tuxing compressor

My Yong Heng is used as a secondary compressor at a rural property, and I started out using Royal Purple. I had no problems but after a short time, switched to Seco Lube type 500. I can't say for sure that Royal Purple is bad news but the failure mode most seen seems to be the last (high P)...

    Adding dessicant to tuxing compressor

The oil odor might suggest a better quality of oil. One of the failure modes of these is cheap oil combusting in the last, highest-pressure stage and causing the o rings to burn. Or, you could add a carbon filter at the output but that is covering up a potential problem.

Flex Seal for Pick Apart Foam?

I have used flex seal only in roofing applications. That said, I have a lot of high-end optics. I would be very nervous about using any such product due to outgassing of left over solvent. It may not be a problem, but I would not want to discover it is the hard way.

N/A Tinker time, cheap tools, and lead

A friend did a "shade tree mechanic" relining of a .22 RF barrel using the liner and drill bit from Brownells and epoxy. The results were very good. The drill bit was quite expensive. I've been tempted to try this as I have had several Hatsan 135 .22 come new with extensive rust. What rifle...

    Nardi Atlantic P

My Nardi looks identical to motorhead's and while "portable"; adding wheels to one end of the roll cage is VERY helpful. I would guess it is at least 70#. They are really good compressors, but you do not move them around with one hand like a Yong Heng! I would have liked the auto shut off and...

    Nardi Atlantic P

My Nardi Atlantic is definitely 220v and I would not consider 120vac. This thing fills tanks a whole lot faster than the Yong Heng and similar and those are fairly challenging to 120vac. I have a Yong Heng at my rural property and was stuck with 120vac for that application. The Nardi is a lot...

    Nardi Atlantic P

I have an older Nardi Atlantic and it easily does 4500psi. Very reliable over the decade or so that I have had it. Some people get hysterical because it runs at higher rpm than a Bauer but I've heard of no problems. It is noisy! Mine is manual, I would recommend the auto shut off and venting...

Other Anywhere in america to buy qys streamlined pellets?

Sorry, I do not recall what I paid for shipping, but it wasn't too bad. Just order enough to distribute the cost. I buy other stuff from them for my olympic guns and never felt ripped off by the shipping as long as I had an order large enough. The streamlines work very well for me BUT my...

    Ballistol dropper bottle.

I've bought a fortune in supplies from Brownells over the last 30+yrs but the dropper bottles that I purchased (10yrs ago?) did not seal well and some of them the needle applicators slid out after a short time. I'm glad to hear they improved them. I have kroil that has got a muddy precipitate...

    Ballistol dropper bottle.

Thanks Ta Ta for the recommendation. I'll try those. So far Kroil has climbed out of every dropper bottle I have tried.

RX2 fitted With B-Square AA adjustable mounts

Just a note on your HW90. I have one (bought 5yr ago or so) with about 12MOA droop and no windage issues (bought as a .177) and another bought 1yr ago as a .22 with about 25MOA droop and 9-10MOA windage issue. I have a .20 barrel that when installed on the first rifle is almost dead on.

    HW/Weihrauch Ring modification

I think we should shout from the roof tops and maybe Weihrauch will finally address the issue. More likely they will come up with an even uglier ambi stock.

    HW/Weihrauch Ring modification

I agree but don't think that we should have to do this. I have 5 AA TX and ProS bought from 2010 to current. and never more than a couple of MOA of droop. Never have I had windage issues. The HW 80 that I just got has NO droop. That is the only HW springer that has less than 15moa of droop and...

    HW/Weihrauch Ring modification

For the time being, I am using a RWS "lock Down" mount and shims. It's not ideal but I hate bending barrels on underlevers that latch to the muzzle. The Blue Lam is almost as accurate as my TX200s so I'm going to keep it. The shot sequence is a bit twangier than a TX and the out of the box...

    HW/Weihrauch Ring modification

My Blue lam hw97 .20 has the same issue. Droop in a fixed barrel? I just bought an HW98 .177 that has 42MOA droop. Amazingly, I just got a new HW80 .22 that UNLIKE ALL my other Weihrauch springers has NO DROOP WHATSOEVER. It must be defective.

Other Anywhere in america to buy qys streamlined pellets?

Out of sheer frustration with this situation, I buy from www.nordicmarksman.com. They are reliable vendors and ship quickly, but you are paying transport from Canada. I can say the domes are as good as can be. There is a large variety of designs available (in Canada and Europe).

What are some great gas rams?

Are the rams in your recent imports rebuildable or capable of having the ram pressure changed? thanks!
