HW/Weihrauch Spring piston guns, shooting tehcniques

You can’t convince me a tune will make my gun more accurate and easy to shoot. I have calmed many a springer down with a tune, but this gun is something special. The spring noise don’t bother me when i can literally zap spent .22 cases at will. I think the right pellet and the right pellet...

HW/Weihrauch Spring piston guns, shooting tehcniques

All I can tell you is .177 Beeman R9 is the greatest break barrel of all time. I don’t know where to go from here. Maybe TX200 HC. Maybe Daystate Huntsman Revere. No price point PCP I have tried can touch my R9, I can fully appreciate the cult of Weihrauch.

N/A What " One gun " to buy

A R9/HW95 is a different beast, superb accuracy and enhanced shootability. But it still has twang. I think you might be disappointed with the weight and hold sensitivity of the HW90. Maybe one of the Diana gas piston rifles would serve you. I have considered one but my R9 always brings me...

HW/Weihrauch Spring piston guns, shooting tehcniques

My technique with spring guns transitioned to the artillery hold when i started using the internet to learn more about pellet guns. Thanks to Tom Gaylord and his blog, I learned a lot. Bought, fixed, and sold dozens of air rifles (at a huge loss). Lots of de-bur and lube tunes to Chinese and...

What springer did you shoot today?

Plinked a little bit with the R9 today. Artillery hold? No thanks. I pull mine tight to the shoulder. Greatest break barrel of all time.

LET THEM FIGHT ... English vs German

.177 R9/HW95 is the ultimate spring piston rifle and nothing compares. At 25 yards it is the most accurate rifle i have ever owned. Anything else that can touch it that’s not a boat anchor is probably a PCP.

GTA apparently still has a lot of the old gatekeepers running things. Or ruining things.

    Diana Diana 34 .177 --- What Have I got?

You got yourself a classic rifle in excellent condition. What a beauty. Enjoy her as she is, or send to a pro because she’s worth it. Unless your tinkering skills are pro-level… many surpass pro’s these days I am sure. Labor of love

    Forum question? Help Please.

We can’t communicate about these things on the internet and remain civil anyway. Some people these days can’t even have a civil discussion about caliber or shot selection, everyone is an expert and no one has lost a animal. This is a pellet gun forum. Keep it friendly, light, and fun :)

Moderators have an important job. For the most part they do a great job and they do it for free.

    Forum question? Help Please.

GTA could have survived the change in ownership if COVID never happened. Politics during the COVID timeframe was their downfall. Travis had ambitions to become a world player and alienated the bread and butter of the forum. They alienated the most active members on the site in favor of those...

    That is a handsome rifle

What is the LEAST hold sensitive, “FULL POWER” spring rifle?

HW is numero uno. I prefer a break barrel myself, just easier to use. But if I were shooting at 100 it would be an HW97 for me, too

    Property management for small game

I will be at war with possums and coons. Cottontails? Around here i doubt it. Cottontails struggle in my area. In fact i have seen more raccoons. The raccoons and possums here are numerous and very healthy lol. I promise you have never seen possums this fat.

    Property management for small game

Trying to buy my first home, offer accepted, already daydreaming about hunting prospects. About 5 acres, mostly wooded, down in a holler. A few neighboring homes, probably 3 or 4 in about 160 acres wooded surrounding us, and farmland for miles outside this little holler. Lots of little...

FX - DRS press release (Pro, Classic, Sub12)

If i could have this in .177 and get about 15-16 fpe out of it, and thread them through a lifesaver without breaking it, what else do you really need? 15-16 fpe in a .177 with a good 10.5-ish grain dome pellet is air rifle perfection. Accurate and powerful, that will zip through a squirrel...

Poll Time - What do you like to do with your airgun?

Mostly shoot targets and hunt small game. But in reality, most of the time I spend with an air rifle is holding it, admiring it, and wiping it down with a gun rag. Because, that is all I really have time for. It’s a R9 in case you were wondering.
