    Gun Room/Armory Ideas

A computer. Between airgun forums and YouTube teardown vids and ballistic apps and fpe calculators and typing up dope sheets, I'm mighty glad to have a computer in my gunroom.

All Things PARD Night Vision & Thermal Optics Thread

@PARD and @PARD_Tech....Similar request here for the DS35.....can we get a firmware upgrade to get 22.4x for the DS35? The fact that max magnification is 11.2 is the only reason why it's currently not mounted on any of my guns. Get me some 22.4x and I'll be sharing Pdog footage all summer, and...

    Other Great pressure gauge positioning

This was the first place I saw the side hanger gauge up at the front of the tube, (other than the FX back on the breech block). https://www.pyramydair.com/product/diana-xr200-pcp-air-rifle?m=6009

    Other Great pressure gauge positioning

My favorite gauge location....don't have to turn the gun around and/or upside down. Stole @cavedweller s photo cuz a screen grab was easier than digging for a photo on my phone of my own. Ghost is similar but slightly less convenient, but with gauges on both side, gotta maneuver the gun to...

    Brocock/BRK BRK Ghost long term

Most LW blanks are 24" I think the standard process is for guys to cut x" off the breech end (to preserve the choke) id they're wanting a shorter barrel. You'd likely sell some if you choose to make them.

    Brocock/BRK BRK Ghost long term

It is a Lothar, 12 land and groove, 1:17.7, and choked. But the Ghost takes a 15mm barrel so about 0.59mm. And it's 18-19 inches long, I forget exactly which right now. I've shared this a few times but I'm sure it's gotten lost in all the Ghost related comments.... The barrel has an...

Other "Sub MOA all day" Challenge

The best I've seen with MRDs, after a hard, 5 year long fight and lots of barrels. Dunno if it's all "LR" RTI barrels, or if this one is special, but I'm so far very happy with the results.

Other "Sub MOA all day" Challenge

I can share some 4x5s in the future. I really like the format of sequential shots, either all into one group or of multiple groups, no sighters. Showing all shots taken really shows what a gun can do. This was yesterday morning at 99 yards. It was taken while measuring BCs and the focus was...

Maximum distance for accurate pellet shooting.

Yeah buddy, I feel ya. I've tried to bring it back to pellets more times than I can remember this late at night. Certain contingent keeps piping in, almost like they're selling slugs or something, and they don't want anybody to realize pellets can still be quite accurate at long range too.

    Practice, Training and attending matches

I typically consider the following a practice session.... Shoot at paper in at least one yard increment from 10-20 yards, and then from 20-55 @ random increments. I shoot from the position I'll use during the match (ie, NOT a bench). I range each distance with the scope, and use the...

Maximum distance for accurate pellet shooting.

Post # 32 earlier in this discussion. Pretty traditional pellet shape. I'm not the only one stretching the. 20/15.89 so far. The long range capability of the .20/15.89 has been witnessed by others, not just me living in "bedtime stories." To clarify for the third time, I'm not getting...

Maximum distance for accurate pellet shooting.

Very good. Your starting speed is faster than I assumed, and your BC is also better than I would expect from that pellet. With that data, you'd have even more fpe left at impact than I estimated. In my testing, .22/18.13 JSBs are usually in the 0.035-0.038 range, although I've seen a few...

Maximum distance for accurate pellet shooting.

1.22MOA @ 157 yards with pellets you say?!?! You mean to say it didn't hit an invisible wall @ 101 yards and just fall benignly, straight to the earth? 1.22MOA @ 157 yards is good stuff, pellets or slugs. Great shooting. Played with some numbers, and based on one e ballistics app, and quite...

Maximum distance for accurate pellet shooting.

A large part of why I said 100ish fpe is most easily done with a rimfire is because of the AIR part of shooting airguns. High pressure air is a hassle, especially at the power levels necessary for an air powered slug to get to 80+ fpe. The "hassle" of HPA is all of the peripherals, the...

Are the slugs hard to "chamber"? Wondering if the probe bent by mashing the slugs into the leade.

For the newcomers on thinking this will be cheaper than powder burners.

THIS. PCPs and all the peripherals are spendy. But shooting them a lot is much cheaper than shooting powder burners at the same volume. And your shoulder doesn't hurt. And you're not burning through barrels. And you're not deaf from the report. @chaught was over at my place a few weeks ago...
