Wow, that’s some intro post! Sadly, I don’t believe your experience is unique, however you have now completed the crash course intro to PCP, welcome! I see another gun or three in your future …enjoy the bumpy road!
I’ll say it again … if the CS4 had been available at the time, I would likely have purchased it instead of my Alkin. I have no regrets on buying the Alkin, but I do wonder if I could have gotten away with spending 8 times less.
Yeah, I just take the mod off for the long barreled Skout. I have the same digital gauge in bspp on my Prophet, it’s been solid for 2 years and on its original battery. I’ll PM you for further Skout discussion. That said, both the AEA and JTS pellets are working really well in all my rifles...
I currently have my Razor 3 on my Skout .22, grossly over scoped for 100 yards, but I have the scope, so why not use it? This scope was won in a raffle, so until I sell it, I’ll risk looking silly and enjoy the glass!!
You need to match your bottle pressure with your compressor, then open the bottle valve to fill. For example: If your bottle pressure is 200 bar, do as you have until the compressor reaches 200 bar, then quickly open your bottle valve and your bottle will slowly fill to your desired pressure...
I had 2 early RTI barrels, a 20” .22 and .25. Both had a ring perpendicular to the lands, about 3/8” in from the muzzle, from the crown tools pilot. They both shot much better than they looked, but man did it bother my conscience. The .25 also had no bevel cut at the breech end, and would just...
Disconnect from the gold filter, and see if it passes air through the black filter first. It seems like you have a solid clog somewhere. Is this a brand new compressor? Make sure you have not over filled the crankcase with oil.
Try cocking the gun, then filling it. I’ve had my P1 do that when filling from empty, cock the gun and let the poppet seat. If no good, as Vetmx says, replace the valve.
I think the point is that perhaps it can be done, but it will likely wear the little compressor out quickly. There is a reason that it has a volume limitation. The designers have set limitations to get the compressor through any warranty period.
If they scaled it up slightly, had a better design with sturdier components, then maybe. My eBay version spit parts across the garage on first run and I was refunded. I’m glad I used eBay on that one, and not Ali Express.
My warmup consists of turning it on with bleeders open for maybe 10 seconds or so to splash some oil before before filling. My cool down is run with bleeders open until no droplets or vapor is seen from said bleeders, then turn off, let it cool and cover.
I’ve only had one Hawke scope, an Airmax 3-12 with front AO. The glass and reticle are just okay, but the front focus is so stiff that I need to come off the target to adjust it. So far my worst scope purchase, and I gave it to another member. I hope Toasty is enjoying it now.
