Other Quiet, pcp, semi auto bday gift for my son?

Read your wish list, don't know your son's experience with airguns or his age. I usually recommend a good quality SINGLE SHOT for young/new shooters. Single shot for safety, single shot to slow down the shot cycle, to teach him to make the first shot count. Hard to beat a good quality...

HAPPY NEW GUN DAY to you! :D

Other "Sub MOA all day" Challenge

If you shoot enough you can always luck into an exceptional group. But like a golf hole-in-one it doesn't mean much unless you can repeat it at will. For pesting/hunting my maximum effective range is defined by the distance I can (consistently) 10 for 10 in a one inch circle (the kill zone of...

    FX Drs classic 700

Done a lot of casting (fishing stuff), figured thatcast slugs would have to be sized to be consistent. I'm making a slug die and swaging machine, I'll post some pictures if it turns out OK.

Anyone else spent way too much money on this hobby?

Yeah, relative to fishing (I have a well equipped but modest 16 foot boat and 30 hp motor) my airgun addiction is relatively inexpensive. I love tuning, tinkering and shooting; all considered, airguns are cheap entertainment.

    FX Drs classic 700

Thanks for sharing your DRS experiences! Gives me something to read while waiting for them to be available in Canada. Interesting that they use the same valve as the Panthera. Cheers!

    Unwlecome pellet sorting

Back in the 60's Milbro were the only pellets available locally and there were always a couple of deformed ones in the box. We called them "mutants" and shot them anyway. Makes me think on how, out of ignorance, I fed my FWB 124 whatever pellets were available or on sale and never thought how...

    First we “sight in”

Once I'm sigthed in I go for the push-pins that are holding up the target... the true proof you are shooting a "tack driver" 😁

    N/A Target air pistols

I keep these on the table and ready for the duration of the winter indoor shooting season. I can manage an honest 10 meters in the basement. .177 facing right, .22 facing left. Cheers!

    HW/Weihrauch HW44 love

I have the Canadian HW44 (in .22 caliber) which is limited to 495 fps. I'm very pleased with it. Great little gun to throw in a pack to bring fishing or for a hike.

    What got you started?

Sling-bow. You don't see/hear much about them. As a kid, I made a couple to hunt rabbits and squirrels - marbles were a lot cheaper than arrows and you didn't have to go looking for them! Back then we used bicycle innertube for slingshot bands (not much else was available) and they didn't...

    What got you started?

I've always loved anything and everything that shoots a projectile... Slingshots to bows to pelletguns to powder burners back to slingshots, bows and pelletguns. The cycle took seven decades 🙂 Cheers!

    N/A Best PCP pistol today

Best PCP pistol for? For casual plinking I like the PP750 as the trigger is not bad and the sights are close to the bore. It points and shoots well but the magazine leaves a lot to be desired so I pretty much use it as a single shot. For general shooting, the HW44 is very accurate, is...

Show me your shot up targets that you are most proud of

Oh, that would be the target where I put ten off-hand shots through a single .177 caliber hole at a 100 yards during a tornado. 😇 ...Hmmm, seem to have misplaced that target somewhere so you'll have to believe me 🤣 Just funning! Seriously, welcome to the for forum - hope you enjoy your...

Airguns That You Broke, Received Broken, or Just Broke and You Never Fixed

I got an old Crosman 101 from my father when I was 14. Having been used in a saltwater environment (Curaçao) and never being cared for it was in rough shape. I gave it an overhaul and used it extensively for a couple of years repairing parts and replacing seals as needed. After many thousands...

    FX DRS wood stock project

Beautiful job Leatherman! Encouraging! I have two curly Sugar Maple stock blanks, one is destined to be a sport stock for my FWB 300S and the other will likely end up on my DRS. My combination lathe/mill doesn't have the reach to inlet the whole barrel channel so I've been machining the...

    Wood stock DRS

Patience Footloose, patience... you'll probably have your walnut DRS well before the first shipment of DRS PCPs arrive in Canada. ☹️ Cheers!

FX I simply can’t resist new tech! FX DRS

Nice, very nice! Thanks for posting Michael! I'm looking for a light, quick handling airgun for off hand plinking and as a carry-around stalking rifle for squirrels. Been mostly using springers in this role, figure that the DRS will be an ideal PCP for this job. For most cases I prefer...

    Air arms S410 vs tx200?

An apples to oranges situation. 🙂 I expect that you know that you are comparing a PCP (S410) to a springer (TX200) and presume that you are aware that the PCP requires a high pressure air source. Most of the sound from a springer comes from the mechanical movement of the internal parts. It...

    Other First PCP help

You can still do "BB gun" and nothing wrong with that if plinking tins at short range is your thing (I still shoot the low power pellet gun I got as a kid). If you do a bit of research you will find airguns in power levels suitable for hunting anything from mice to moose. It's just a matter of...
