B"H and YIPPPEEEEE ! It was the blank side piece that apparently was not put in place correctly so when I removed it completely the gun cocks and stays cocked. Watching the video again helped me.

I did not need to cock it and I didn't, I just opened the side lever enough to remove the side lever
