I find that the 45s shoot better in my RAW than the 50s. Out to 100, good quality flight (no spiraling, consistent BC) means more than pure accuracy or BC. So any differences in the numbers as it relates to ballistic coefficient is dwarfed by actual BC coming off your rifle.

If I were you I'd start by looking for airgun benchrest competition in all of the states you are willing to travel to. The affiliation of those shoots will drive everything else. You definitely have to be careful on the equipment side. A 25y airgun benchrest gun in .177 will not be worth...

I just use Burris Signature rings everywhere I can, and where I can't, I lay a thin strip of plastic shim between the scope and ring.
