    sun shade question?

Oh they work. I shoot field target and sometimes those devious match directors intentionally place targets where the sun's glare just wash out the target and your cross hair. You look thru your scope and it's just one big blast of white light. Learned my lesson after the first few matches...

LET THEM FIGHT ... English vs German

Sorry to hijack this thread I just want a made in America springer that can compete with HW and AA in quality and accuracy. Heck I'll even settle for a custom one off...Wishcomb type springer. Yeah I know...I'm in fantasy land. (Boss...da plane da plane )

Anyone else spent way too much money on this hobby?

Agree with post #28. The costs and hassles of traveling to competitions sucks! and they add up quick. (airline ticket, lodging, rental cars, food, and trinkets to appease the wife). Shout out to those gun ranges that allow camping onsite or parking/dry camping in your car onsite. Every little...

    Practice, Training and attending matches

For American FT, it's two shots per target. Usually most club use two targets per lane. So I think Scotton was trying to practice putting extra pressure on himself to hit that last shot. For WFTF it's one shot per target. -- My practice routine now. I used to shoot 80% sitting and 20% offhand...

    Detecting Scammers in the Classifieds

Thank you Mark for your generous offer. Can you offer any insights into websites? For example I got eBay selling a recoil free riser for $69 385624871725 Then I got this website offering ...it looks like the exact same product for 1/2 the price? (I assume .ru ...means a Russian site?)...

HW 50 Accuracy improvement by accident

I assume the OP will handle the barrel a lot cos it's a break barrel. How's the O-ring going to precisely stay in place without the CF shroud? To counter act the harmonics don't the O-rings need to be in a precise area of the barrel? (I assume there's more than one O-ring) Glue the O-rings...

N/A 20fpe springer, or just under, from the factory for FT

You are near Wayne and Randy in Ashland. Plenty of field target knowledge and wisdom there. Plus they got an airgun store there (everything you'll need to put together a competitive FT rig) Their advice is free...pellets, you'll need to pay by the tin. LOL I know Wayne post on here. I know...

Best $200 scope for a magnum springer

I would invest in a recoil free scope mount. https://www.amazon.com/MIZUGIWA-Recoil-Profile-Picatinny-Compensation/dp/B081HZJHGK That should leave you with $180 to spend on almost any scope on the market within that price range. At this price point, look at Bushnell monstrum Simmons Vortex Vector

From which point do you range your targets?

I shoot in Field Target competition. Is accurate ranging important? Hell yeah. Because in US field target, these devious match directors sometime use teeny tiny 3/8" kill zone at 10 to 13 yards to challenge the shooters. As post #2 stated there are rules about how close you can get to the line...

    N/A Ft break barrel rifle

I'm a WFTF sub 12 FPE target shooter only. Since you already have your hunting rig, here's what I would do before buying another rig. Your hunting rig needs to be under 20 FPE for Hunter and open class and under 12 FPE for WFTF. 1. shoot your hunting rig in your chosen FT position. (I assumed...

    Leupold 45x45 ranging

11 yards for me. Mine sits on the shelf for now. Because ranging from 40- 55 is problematic for me. Sometimes a target is crystal clear from 42-48 yards...right now I'm taking the average. I click for 45. Others have use rivets, frayed lines to help focus...my old eyes aren't that acute.

    Sightron S6 fieldtarget

I'm on the conservative side. Even though Sightron has a proven track record of making excellent scopes and a great supporter of FT shooting. Since this is a new product, I would like some reliability history and review data (not the paid ones) before sending $2000 to Sightron. Just want to...

    HW/Weihrauch Ring modification

I think the OP intent was to zero at 75 yards to shoot long distances? (hence you see the low POI at 30 yards, then again maybe I'm wrong) These springers were designed to be zeroed at 25-30 yards. So stretching it out to 75 is going to require a different set of mounting system. I think some...

Modifying West Hinter hight adjustable rings to MOA rings

This might be a better option for some. Dovetail to Picatinny riser a choice of 0-20 MOA https://www.morraccuracy.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.html?store-page=Picatinny-Rail-Adapter-p559129727

    HW/Weihrauch Ring modification

https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/rx2-fitted-with-b-square-aa-adjustable-mounts.1166614/#post-1183036 My posting is in the link above (see #3) Yeah you need a dovetail to Picatinny adaptor for that riser....I don't think that riser comes in 11 mm dovetail. Yes it is two purchase. BUT one...

    N/A Packable springers?

I remember the Chinese used to make springers with folding stocks or detachable stock. Don't know if they are still made. Quality, Power and accuracy? All most likely sub-par. QB6? QB 57? QB 51 Don't know if some of these bull pup will fit into a 50L pack, QB 89. El Gamo 68. Norica...
