    N/A Lightened Piston

That looks like a HW97 piston. The TX 200 has a different design. It has a sliding compression tube and the piston rides inside the tube. This gives us the option of cutting out a lot of weight from the piston. One disadvantage is we lose the rear Derlin guide. Here's another option for a...

    N/A Lightened Piston

Just lightened a friend’s Tx piston. See pictures below. We chopped it until only 1.5 inches was left? (Yeah it was an aggressive chop, we’ll weight it next time) Initial testing with an after market ? spring was not good. I think we dropped from 10.5 FPE to about 8FPE. We were told to switch...

Petition to Allow Laser Range Finders in Field Target Competitions

There's no need to carry a rangefinder into the field. There are some scopes with built-in range finders and ballistic programs. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BYDUZ60?tag=scopesfield09-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1 If they allow something like this...it would definitely change WFTF. Just as a...

    Resources Mac1 USFT shooting techniques???

I assume you want to shoot hunter. (Assuming that your USFT is within spec) You might want to think about shooting open instead. Just starting out. Open gives you more comfort, less wobble, more positional consistency, more stable shooting platform, higher scope magnification...then as you get...

Learning to shoot in the wind.

I'm always curious about using mirage information for hold-offs. I assume those heat patterns are around 20 yards and beyond? I guess it's a shoot and see scenario? practice in the mirage at different yardages and see where they land?

    N/A TX200 at 50yds in Big Wind

Nice shooting Jeff. What kind of internal tune are you running? 13.96 ft/lb...that's probably the upper middle of the sweet spot for a TX

    This hose made it exciting

Time to think about shooting springers. Then you just have to worry about losing a finger when you don't hold onto the cocking handle or barrel. But on the plus side...no high pressure air, no compressor, no tanks...etc.

Air Arms Tony Leach O-ring conversion? Or HW 45 seal

Has anyone converted one of Tony’s 22 mm piston seal to an O-ring seal? Just wondering if there are any pitfalls before I venture down this path. Has anyone tried a HW 45 piston seal on Tony’s kit? Does it fit

    Break barrel safety

I agree with all the postings. I'm soooo tempted to post the YouTubers who are not holding onto the barrels or cocking levers ...to shame them into compliance. Because their videos are watched by thousands (or more?) of impressional viewers. But maybe a better way to initiate change or bring...

Diana Diana 52 scope elevation adjustment

Some people like to shim their scopes. I'm not one of them. Especially not on a magnum recoiling springer. Shimming just puts more stress on your scope tube and other scope components. A better solution is to get a riser with a droop built in or a scope mount with droop built in...

    Strictly off hand…

I don't know how long you've been shooting the FWB 300 and your RWS 45 and I haven't looked at your form/posture. If I had to guess, you probably own both for less than 5 years? you are probably fighting the weight of the 300 instead of using it to your advantage. The FWB 300 is designed for...

Gamo Shiming the twang out of my varmint

I wish I had your skills. For me, I added about a pound of lead weight to the rear of my TX today. It seems to "sit" a bit better when I'm in my field target position. Accuracy wise and recoil wise...??? I guess I'll find out this Easter Sunday when I shoot against other PCP shooters.

Pyramyd Cup 2025 Registration is NOW OPEN! 🎯

Good times last year 2024. Well run, well organized events. Huge friendly staff behind the scene to make sure all the events went off smoothly. New comers be warned, if you are traveling long distance. Some of the shoot starts on a Wednesday. (edited see post below) Probably want to get there...

    Sightron S6 10-60x56

I think you just found the optical limit for range finding with 16x around 40-55 yards with probably the highest quality scope(s) available. Bracketing to confirm is probably the next step. OR WFTF, limitless magnification and you can use the full potential of your Sightron SIII.

    Trybe Optics Enhancer

Has anyone tried this on their low power scope? (16X or higher). Will it work for field target shooting?

    Tuning Thrust bearing

Yup For me I needed one in my TX. I was shooting my TX200 Tim bum set up. Tried it with and without the thrust bearing/slip washer. For me it was a big difference in felt recoil. The gun seems to torque more without the washer. Edited: I better clarify it's not a real thrust bearing...it's just...

Other My HW97, from basic to Bombastic

I see WFTF in your future. One more scope upgrade ...and you are almost there. It's ok too if you decide to stay in Hunter Piston (that's a nice rig). We need to spread the word.

Diana Scope and mount for Diana Mod 48/52

Can you show us a picture of what you mean by your scope blocking the loading port/beech. I own two RWS 54 (almost the same dimension as a 48). I've mounted a Bushnell 8-32 on it (a very long scope ). I do not have problem loading. Here's an example of a "long" scope. Picture grabbed off the...

Sacramento Valley Field Target ( SVFTC ) March 2025 Jim Cyran Memorial Match "RESULTS"

I expect the same treatment (my cheering/jeering section)...next month at Diablo. Stop all your shooting and jeer me on when I'm about to shoot that 3/4 inch or 1 inch 55 yard target (that I missed all four shots on this month). Assuming of course that Mr. M let me set that target out there...
